This was listed in the top five best filters in The Consumer Guide and lives up to its rating. A reverse osmosis system always tastes best but loses a lot of water in the system. This filter was easily installed and the water tastes very good.

So far it has worked fine. The water is practically tasteless! We’ll have to see once we’ve used it for a few months

Drinking water that does not meet a federal health guideline will not necessarily make someone ill. Many contaminants are hazardous only if consumed for years. And some researchers argue that even toxic chemicals, when consumed at extremely low doses over long periods, pose few risks. Charles The Safe Drinking Water Act, the safety provisions of the Clean Water Acts, the Clean Air Act, the Superfund Law – the gas industry is exempt from all these basic environmental and worker protections. They don’t have to disclose the chemicals they use. They don’t have to play by the same rules as anybody else. Josh FoxRead more at: http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/keywords/drinking_water.html

My husband and I love the taste of the water. Installation was a challange. The connection that came with the system does not work with all sinks, including ours. It took a phone call to customer service and couple trips to the store to get the correct fitting. Once completed, we love it.

Replaced a 10+ year old unit, works great

Water is good and it takes much less room under the sink than the old one.

The filter works great, our drinking water tastes noticibly better. My only knock on the product is that it did not come with all the fittings necessary to install it. I needed to spend about $15 more at the hardware store for fittings to make it work with the PEX plumbing under my kitchen sink as we are new construction. It would have been nice to have a finish option of the counter top filtered water faucet. Chrome is what is supplied and my existing kitchen faucet set is brushed nickel.

Easy install with everything needed included. The filtered water from this water filter is better than most bottled water. Just to see how good it works I had people try bottled, tap, and the filtered water. Everyone picked the filtered water not knowing it was the filtered. They thought it was bottled. Glad consumer reports got this one right because I went on their recommendation.

I moved to Cincinnati a few months ago and still hadn’t adjusted to the taste of their water. I researched various options and websites, including Consumer Reports, and finally settled on Aqua Pure. Installation wasn’t too difficult, and the water tastes great! Love my new Aqua Pure system!

It was relatively easy to assemble and mounted well. The water tastes great and the faucet is a 1/4 turn valve that doesn’t leak and is easy to operate. My old Sears Kenmore didn’t have parts or filters available any more and Sears wasn’t interested in assisting.I would definitely recommend this filter.

I had an existing faucet from another brand of water filter that I planned to use, even though the AquaPure AP-DWS1000 kit I bought came with a new faucet. I downloaded the documentation about the AquaPure filter before I bought it, and the problem is that it doesn’t specify that the quarter-inch plastic tubing it uses is an OUTER diameter vs. an INNER diameter – it just says “1/4-inch tubing.” My existing faucet uses quarter-inch INNER diameter tubing. The result was I had to go to a hardware store and find a connector that could take my existing, larger tubing and connect it to the smaller AquaPure-provided tubing (about $4 apiece). Not a huge deal, but it would have been nice to know ahead of time as my installation location required adding extra plastic tubing to reach it, and I’d already bought 1/4″ inner-diameter tubing! The AquaPure manuals could be improved by specifying that 1/4″ tubing is OUTER diameter vs. INNER diameter! Otherwise, the filter is working fine – connected with no leaks on the first try. The only complaint I have about the installation of the main filter bracket is that the holes for mounting are placed such that the mounting screws cannot be accessed with a screwdriver “straight on” as some of the elbows/tubing already on the bracket are in the way. I found that I had to install the wood screws to hold the main assembly by themselves first, leaving a gap between the heads and the wood (wall) just the thickness of the mounting bracket. Once I had this step done, I slid the bracket over the screws and pulled down to make sure it was secure. It would probably be easier if the bracket was designed such that the screws could be tightened or loosed with a screwdriver and not have to be installed before the bracket can be attached.
