Take your game to the next level with the Predator XB1 XB271HU bmiprz 27″ 16:9 IPS Monitor from Acer as it features both NVIDIA G-Sync and NVIDIA Ultra Low Motion Blur technologies. With G-Sync technology the monitor adapts to the settings of your graphics card for a more fluid gaming experience while the Ultra Low Motion Blur technology greatly reduces blur in fast moving games such as racing simulators. To assist in the enhanced gaming experience Acer has also ensured this monitor covers the entire sRGB color space to provide accurate color representation. Once configured, the long gaming sessions begin which can take a toll on the eyes. As a result, this XB1 series monitor comes equipped with flicker-less technology to virtually eliminate screen flicker and a blue-light filter to reduce the harmful effects caused by blue light exposure.
The Predator XB1 from Acer features a WQHD 2560 x 1440 resolution offering four times the resolution of 720p HD for a crisp clear picture. The IPS display also supports a 4 ms response time to reduce ghosting when gaming or viewing videos and a 1,000:1 contrast ratio to provide deeper dark and brighter bright colors. On the back of the monitor you will find a single HDMI connector and USB port as well as two speakers to provide an immersive multimedia experience. Once configured, the display can be adjusted up and down, up to 5″, for maximum viewing comfort.

At first I was nervous because of all of the quality control that this monitor had, but I can safely report that it had no blb or dead pixels. Coming from a 60hz panel to this one is night and day I thought the people who said the jump from 60hz to 144 (I overclocked mine to 165) was huge but wow! Can’t recommend it enough.

I have two of these monitors, calibrated side by side and they both are flawless and color reproduction between the two of them matches perfectly. The refresh rate is perfect at the resolution for the price point. Probably one of the best middle-ground monitors out there. Although they are getting harder and harder to find due to popularity and Acer’s slow/weak production runs. I’ve not experienced the IPS light bleed that others have experienced, in either of my units. I’ve had one of them for over a year and its been super solid. It loses 1 star because you’ll sometimes need to reset the display because you get a left side misalignment which results in the display duplicating a few bars of pixels, but upon refresh the monitor corrects itself and the duplicated bars go away. It doesn’t happen often enough to be a real problem and to adjust it, you basically just turn your monitor on and off again, no big deal. It seems to happen less if you’re not keeping them in standby mode. Just turn them on fresh when you start your computer and you should never have the issue.

I finally got my hands on this monitor after watching the page for it on B&H like a hawk for literally months since it was on backorder and was a little nervous about the reviews that complained about the IPS bleed, finally recieved it and I gotta say it is a MASSIVE upgrade over my old monitor. The colors out of the box are fantastic and the resolution makes my games look absolutely fantastic. I did have to adjust the brightness settings since out of the box it was a little bright but other than that it was pretty simple to do. The menus are slightly clunky but not awful. THERE IS IPS BLEED, but honestly for the work and play I do it has not been a factor. Honestly I think that IPS bleed is just a part of the inherent design of IPS monitors since my old monitor also had bleed, so far while working or gaming I havent noticed it at all, its really only noticeable when you have a flat black image, under normal use you will not notice it at all.
