Featuring both NVIDIA G-SYNC and NVIDIA ULMB technologies, the XB272 Predator XB2 27″ 16:9 LCD Monitor from Acer is designed with the gamer in mind. With G-SYNC technology gamers benefit from smooth, tear-free gameplay while Ultra Low Motion Blur helps to reduce the stutter and lag during fast moving game scenes. In addition to these NVIDIA technologies, this Acer monitor supports a 240 Hz refresh rate and a 1 ms response time.
Setup and configuration of the Acer XB272 is simple as it comes equipped with both HDMI and DisplayPort inputs. Additionally, users can connect USB compatible peripherals to any of the four USB 3.0 ports. Once configured, the Predator monitor offers a Full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution with 240 Hz refresh rates using the DisplayPort input. The display also supports a 1,000:1 contrast ratio, a 400 cd/m² brightness rating, and dual 2-watt stereo speakers for a complete multimedia experience. The included stand makes it easy to tilt, pivot, swivel, or adjust the height of the display to maximize your viewing comfort.

-Supports G-Sync technology -It uses Flicker Free Technology known as DC to prevent flickering on screen -I like Multi-directional buttons which is convenient to navigate OSD (Onscreen Display) -I like Zero Frame Thin Bezel design to prevent image distortion and easier to match same model to run multi display config. -It turns on the monitor so quickly which is good to save time -27 screen size is very useful to enhance peripheral vision in gaming and productivity -Base stand feels sturdy and high quality built-in -It has refresh rate counter to ensure that G-Sync is working to allow GPU to be synchronized to monitor’s refresh rate, regardless GPU rendering rate Cons: -When I activate 240Hz refresh rate, I can hear slight buzzing/ringing noise at the bottom left hand corner of the screen -I wish Predator Logo is not on the bottom bezel which may cause slight distraction to some users -I wish there’s LED option to change lighting effects for Power mode, Sleep Mode, Wake Mode, Hibernation mode etc. in wide variation of color schemes like blue, green, teal, orange, yellow, red, and so on so forth -Yes, it can’t be quite expensive to invest this 240hz monitor but if you’re a PC gamer who cares about refresh rate but doesn’t care too much on colors, then this is perfect upgrade for you. Note that you need high-end graphics card ( GTX 1080 Ti or better), faster CPU (i7 7700K or better), and faster RAM speed (3866Mhz or higher) to maintain 240 frames per second. -Indeed, this is 8-bit TN Panel, so doesn’t expect best looking color reproduction, compared to 8-bit/10-bit AHVA (IPS) Panel. All in all, I really like ACER XB272 240hz TN Panel and I’m glad that this was worth the upgrade over BenQ XL2540 which is great but 24.5 size is a bit too small for me and that’s the reason why I’ve gone with 27 240Hz display which I have been waiting for very long time.

Bottom line, this monitor is the cream of the crop. I’ve had it a week now and its everything you want in a gaming monitor. Great color and 240hz wow. Smooth as butter and that GSYNC makes’er crystal clear. Perfect size too, 27″. Those other 240hz monitors that are 24″/25″, NO THANK YOU! 🙂
