The AdirPro LDG-8 green beam detector is robust with its hard plastic housing and rubber casing. It has a dual display and a built-in bubble level for convenience. The backlight to the liquid crystal display can be adjusted with the touch of a button. The same goes for the volume. In addition to the on/off button, there is an automatic shut-off feature that will power down the device after about 10-minutes of being idle (so as to extend your batteries lifetime). With 2 new AA batteries you can get approximately 40 working hours. The interface is user-friendly and smart in its simple design. The readouts are clear and accurate.

First off you should know this item only works with rotary lasers. That being said it is very compatible with many different lasers from many different manufacturers. It has an up and down arrow that is accompanied with sound indication: fast beep when you’re too low and slow when you’re too high. I dropped it a few times when I used it on my pool but it survived and no problems. When testing it out, it worked at well over 500 feet so that was a nice surprise. The guidelines state 100 and I’ve read where others have gotten it to work at 600 as well. Unfortunately being used in sunlight is difficult and I’d like AA batteries instead of 9v. Oh, well, can’t have everything. At least the mounting bracket is handy.
