The Level Field Engineer Note Books are very durable. They have a great weight to them without being too heavy to carry around. The pages are bright white and easy to write on. And high quality, no tearing.

The level field engineering book is a perfect size for traveling with the book and taking it to work. It’s sturdy and holds many pages. The extra feature in the back with helpful equations and tools is a plus.

Tough material and easy to spot if dropped. High-quality ink and paper that work in the weather. Useful reference tables in the back. Variety if different pens, markers and pencils all work well with it, with just a little bit of bleed-through on some.

Loved these books. They give a name, address, phone number and projects for subject lines. And the pages of the book also have 5 dividing lines for different areas of work to keep it separated. I love these books especially if you’re in a line of work that needs them.

These Level Field Engineer Books are my favorite notebook that I’ve found pretty much ever. The red outer cover makes them unique and easily identifiable, and the modified grid pattern on the pages is the best page lining layout I’ve found yet in a notebook. I recommend these notebooks!

Disclaimer: I got these notebooks as an artist, rather than a surveyor, and my tests of water resistance reflect that. Anyone using them for their intended purpose can feel free to take this with a grain of salt.Cover: Excellent quality. I honestly did not expect a hardback cover at all, much less one as stiff as this. It is VERY tough. My only complaint is that the logo embossing is off center, which is very petty.Paper: As you can see in the pictures, I tested the pages with not only pencil and pen, but sharpie and watercolor paint. There was very little bleed, though the Sharpie is visible through the next page. Even fully saturated with water, hardly any liquid went through to the back of the page, and none at all onto the next page.It does, however, crinkle quite strongly when it dries. This is to be expected with how thin the pages are, however. The ledger lines are excellent, visible without being obtrusive, and the paper itself is off-white.

I used the book more as an organizer/journal of sorts. The pages themselves are solid. They absorb both ballpoint and rollerball ink well without bleeding through. The pages are the right heft, solid and sturdy but not stiff. The hardcover is nice and provide great protection for the pages. The overall size is ideal field work or to stash away. Twelve may be more than I will use, but regardless is a good number of books to work with.
