These HANGING ICICLE LIGHTS are very nice and easy to install. You just hang them up on hooks and plug them in. They have a CHASING EFFECT that has a WARM WHITE LED look to them. They have 10 lights that are spaced one foot apart with a ten foot power line before the first light to plug them in. We have been looking for a set of these and they are great. You can’t run them in strings like other lights.

These icicle lights are gorgeous! They are 20” long and have the lights on two sides so however you hang them you get the beautiful soft white light that trickles down. The sizing is also nice each icicle is 1 foot apart over the span of 10 feet so it would be easy to calculate how many strands you need. The cord to plug it in is nice and thin and is also another 10 feet in length. There is just one major issue about these that made me not love them. They are not linkable. When I first opened them I thought they’d be linkable because the end of the cord was not screwed into the plug-in so I figured you must have the option to hook it to the plug-in or hook it to another strand, however I was disappointed to find out that is not the case. Each one would need to be individually plugged in which makes it very difficult and cluttered to do the entire roof line. Had they been linkable I would definitely buy more and do the entire front of our house as they are very pretty. For now I will just do the one strand on the very front porch and hope they one day redesign them.

These lights are long clear plastic tubes with visible LED mounts inside them. The circuit makes them fire in a downward pattern. When it’s light outside, they look a little too open to be a good decoration, but when it’s dark and the light pattern comes on, it’s really a good effect of dripping white fire. Very bright and the icicles are well spaced. For the right eave or porch application, it’s very good.

How incredibly cool and advanced are the Alpine Hanging Icicle Lights with Chasing Warm White LED Lights? Amazing how technology has advanced us so far to arrive at these magnificent lights! Not the old school icicle lights of past years, these lights are state-of-the-art warm LED hard strips encased in plastic sleeves that appear to be durable. First season use so I can’t vouch for next year but in my opinion, these should be fine year after year! There are 10-20inch long icicles on a single strand. Honestly? There are not enough strips. The ten are fine but to trim just about anything on your house you would need several strands. Would be nicer if there were maybe 20 on each string. The icicles are .5” sq. W x 20”L mounted on a 9 ft. cord with a small transformer at the plug end. These can NOT be connected end-to-end with other strands which is a bummer (my use I only need the one strand) but good to know in case you plan on putting out a long string on your home’s eaves. The light they emit is bright but a warm color rather than standard LED ‘garish’ white. There is no on/off switch or remote so keep that in mind as well. These strands will be noticed. The lights cascade individually to give that melting effect. Much improved from earlier versions and quite beautiful to look at, these icicle lights will not disappoint. Very impressed with quality, size and overall aesthetic quality. Very nice! 5*’s!

Disappointing overall. For almost $100, I expected something a little more “amazing” These things don’t seem that awesome. You have ten 20″ clear plastic tubes, as big around as an ink pen. Inside each is a strip of chasing LED lights (says 54 LEDs in each) But each icicle is only 10″ apart. So these only go about 9 feet. Which, if you were planning to do the exterior eave of your house, it’s probably gonna take more than one strip. My biggest problem is that they only have one mode. All they do is chase/strobe to look like they are “dripping” I guess. For this cost, they should have had a remote, with color changing and multiple features, but these things are only going to look cool if you have enough of them to cover a whole facade. Somethings just look better when there are more of them, like tulips! I’m going to try them in various art installations and see if I grow to love them, but for now, not impressed
