The AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 3.6 GHz Eight-Core AM4 Processor is a powerful eight-core processor with 16 threads, designed for socket AM4 motherboards. Built with Zen 2 architecture, the third-generation 7nm Ryzen processor offers increased performance compared to its predecessor. It has a base clock speed of 3.6 GHz and can reach a max boost clock speed of 4.4 GHz. Moreover, it features 32MB of L3 cache, 24 PCIe Gen 4 lanes, and support for dual-channel 3200 MHz DDR4 RAM. Users should pair it with an AMD X500-series motherboard to fully take advantage of PCIe 4.0. This processor has a 65W TDP (Thermal Design Power) and includes a Wraith Prism cooler with RGB LED lighting. Please note that it does not have an integrated GPU, so a dedicated graphics card is required.

I like it. – Wrecks the price/performance curve, especially for parallel scenarios. – CPU cooler looks good and is a lot more capable than others, especially OEM ones. – Attaching the heatsink to the motherboard was a little tight but not bad. – Does require a motherboard with compatible BIOS, which not all B-chipset motherboards have out of the factory. I decided to spend more for an X570 motherboard which all support Ryzen 3000 CPUs out of the box. Otherwise, you have to hope a B450 motherboard has a new enough BIOS version from the factory, or you need a spare older AM4 CPU to let you upgrade the BIOS first.

Great piece of machinery, runs as advertised. Using with a MSI B450 motherboard, Corsair Hi100 liquid cooled, EVGA 2080 SUPER Black Gaming GPU. Can overclock to 4.3 GHz no problem, stays under 90 degrees great choice in processor. Turned OC off after testing and still runs current games at full capacity with streaming and very little work load.

I was aiming for the 5 3600X, but I couldn’t find it in stock (2020 vibes). This one isn’t much more and has a 7 instead of a 5, so that’s 2 better. The cooler has pretty lights.

Have had this processor with an Asus TUF x570 and rtx 2070s with no issues at all. Any game runs at a stable 165 fps with no lag, and applications open lightning quick even if you have a bunch of stuff open already. The stock cooler is great in my setup (mid tower case and 3 intake/3 outake fans) so I’m very happy.

I replaced a Ryzen 2600X powered X470 motherboard with a Ryzen 3700X powered X570 motherboard. The new system performance is somewhat better, but not awesomely different. Both systems have identical DDR4-3200 memory modules and similar M.2 SSD drives, so I’m seeing the motherboard and processor gains only. Probably cost too much for the gain realized, but I enjoy building my own systems. The 3700X has been flawless and meets speed rating (4400mHz) on at least 3 cores. Remaining 5 cores are 50mHz – 75mHz slower. Not something that is noticeable, I’m guessing.

This is the second amd processor i’ve bought in the past two years, this one being for my gf’s new build i put together for her. Was actually cheaper to go with the 3700x over the 3600x since it was on sale. No brainer there. Had my 3800x running in my pc for over a year now and couldn’t be happier with the performance, so of course, had to get my baby a team red as well.
