The AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 3.6 GHz Eight-Core AM4 Processor is a powerful eight-core processor with 16 threads, designed for socket AM4 motherboards. Built with Zen 2 architecture, the third-generation 7nm Ryzen processor offers increased performance compared to its predecessor. It has a base clock speed of 3.6 GHz and can reach a max boost clock speed of 4.4 GHz. Moreover, it features 32MB of L3 cache, 24 PCIe Gen 4 lanes, and support for dual-channel 3200 MHz DDR4 RAM. Users should pair it with an AMD X500-series motherboard to fully take advantage of PCIe 4.0. This processor has a 65W TDP (Thermal Design Power) and includes a Wraith Prism cooler with RGB LED lighting. Please note that it does not have an integrated GPU, so a dedicated graphics card is required.

After years of enduring a 10 year old i5-750 processor, it was time to upgrade. I was initially pricing out an Intel processor and liquid cooler. For the same price. I ended up going with a 40% more powerful AMD processor, which comes with a decent cooler! The cooler is pretty quiet at idle/light workloads. At higher loads, it’s a bit noisy. If you are a silent PC enthusiast, I’d suggest upgrading your cooler to a BeQuiet or Noctua CPU cooler. Even on the stock cooler the processor works quite well. Idles at 36-38C and full load it goes up to 75 with PBO off and 85 with PBO on. Benches at ~4800 on Cinebench R20. I expect to see a slight improvement once my 3200MHz RAM upgrade arrives! (currently on single channel 2400MHz) I decided to go with the ASUS Strix X470-F Gaming Motherboard, it is more than enough to handle this processor.

Nice improvement jump from my previous 2700x. This chip runs cooler under load while still being faster to render 1080p video. Gaming is super smooth, even at 1440 resolution, and thermals are within check at no greater than 60c. Stable overclock on all cores to 4.3 using a 360mm AIO.

AMD really has it together. No need to modify anything with their industry supported bios. My box is now all AMD including Asus TUF gaming B550 and Radeon RX 580. I’ve never seen video editing so fast as it can maximize the entire platform and use all cores and threads.

This is my first AMD processor, and it working very well. It barely gets higher than 30% when I am killing it. My cooling fans don’t rev up, and it remains very stable. I runs my games well too, without a hint of stutter. For the price, this is one of best all round processors, and I will recommend it to anyone.

Bought this cpu to install in a new pc build. I primarily use the pc for gaming but I wanted to have a cpu that can handle all tasks I throw at it. This cpu is blazing fast, handles whatever I throw at it with no issues and has no problems with cooling even with an air cooler. The comparable i7 9700K is only marginally better for gaming and not as good as the ryzen 7 3700x for multitasking for considerably more money than the ryzen 7. I highly recommend this to anyone looking to upgrade or building something new.
