The USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C to SATA 6 Gb/s Adapter from Angelbird converts your internal hard drives and solid-state drives into an external drive, which can be used by computer systems featuring a USB Type-C port. The adapter is compatible with 2.5″ and 3.5″ drives sporting a SATA interface, as well as systems running on a Windows, Mac, Linux, or Android operating system. Additionally, the adapter supports TRIM and UASP technologies, so the drive can maintain its performance and reliability.
The USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C interface transfers data at a rate of up to 10 Gb/s, while the SATA III connector offers speeds of up to 6 Gb/s. For drives requiring additional power, a 12V port is on board, allowing you to connect an optional power adapter.

The 12v port is an odd size, required an adapter pack, and its very loose. Cause my drive to stop because it became too loose.

I bought 2 1 with Samsung SSD 1 TB 1 With Samsung SSD 8 TB both used as external Drive for Video Production work. the Connector gives me average speed 450 to 500 MB which is great for 4k Edit I like the Tiny small red LED in it, when SSD is working.

I bought a few different brands in 2020 when I got my Shogun and since then only this Angelbird has lasted – no problem. Other 2 brands that were only $5-$8 cheaper failed in the first 6 months so it’s not worth the savings for sure. Just waiting for the Thunderbolt-4 version!

Can’t complain, it does what it’s meant to. They should make it more obvious that you NEED it to use the device though, the SSD doesn’t come with it.

Don’t expect a fast transfer. Only 400MB/second on my 16MBP, but sooooo much better than the Atomos sled.
