APC Backups are pretty good. This version has a replaceable battery and USB to PC with software to cleanly shutdown. Only complaint is that they should support Linux OSes and not just Windows

Got this to avoid losing power. Never had to use it yet but good peace of mind to know will have power for 4 hours should the power go out during a storm or the like.

Received a refurbished unit (quality test receipt still taped to it) while BH sold it as new.

This is a new form factor for APC and basically replaces the BE550G that I really loved and used a lot of them at work. It looks like the BE550G is also being phased out. I am a little on the fence about this one, however, my list of pros and cons is below on how I see it. Pros: Smaller footprint lighter USB charging port built in still wall mountable (template in the manual) same 3 year warranty voltage sensitivity is adjustable and you don’t even have to use software to do it (refer to manual) Cons: higher profile (could be an issue in some locations) 4 battery outlets, only 2 surge outlets battery seems to be a non standard size Currently, I cannot find the replacement batteries for this unit. I am assuming that they will start to be available in the near future as people need them. I am hoping that APC will lead the market for these batteries to be available from 3rd party sellers at a reasonable cost. They are about half the thickness of the battery that was in the BE550G unit.

Today I had the first power outage during heavy storms. My cable modem, WiFi router and VOIP box all stayed up and running. That was why I bought this unit so I would not have internet connection issues while i work from home. It is the brief power outages that require lengthy restarts and that is annoying. I give this unit a thumbs up.

I know this is to early to really know, but I wanted to review now or I probably wouldn’t at all. I connected this last night to my desktop and it is reporting over 30 minutes of uptime! I never expected even close to that much with a unit of this size. I haven’t unplugged from power to verify but I will probably do that in the next couple of days and if it varies significantly I will report back and update.

I received this APC backUPS a few weeks ago and had my computer plugged into it. A storm hit just last week and we lost power for a whole week! I plugged my phone into the UPS as well as my computer and I was able to get news updates from our governor about shelters and when it was safe to go outside. I’ve already bought another for my wife’s computer in the den! I highly recommend this to anyone who is under threat of losing power!

I purchased the BE600M1 a few weeks ago to protect my Plex server. It paied off almost immediately when a car accident knocked out power to my building. The coil whine coming from the usb charging port on the other hand is proving to be a huge deal breaker for me. When the living room is quiet all I hear is a high-pitched (12kHz-18kHz) whine coming from the unit. It is driving me crazy. Would not reccomend. For me this unit is an external Tinnitus generator with a battery backup.

Great UPS & the USB charging port is a great additional feature!

Using for a NAS — no need for a lot of power. This is a small unit and isn’t suitable for larger devices. It hooked up to my Synology NAS perfectly via USB
