The Back-UPS 650 8 Outlet Surge Protector and Battery Backup (120V) from APC provides backup battery power and surge protection for your devices that require outlet power, such as your computer. This Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) features four surge-only protected outlets and four surge and battery-protected outlets with a total output power of 390W. At half-load, or 195W, the battery can last for up to 12 minutes; at full load, or 390W, it can last for 3.3 minutes. This UPS is compatible with devices that have an input voltage of 120V and a frequency of 50/60Hz, such as those found in the United States.
Beyond the more fundamental functions of this UPS, it also boasts more advanced features. If power conditions change while your devices are connected, this UPS will sound an alarm. If the utility power is out, you can rely upon the unit’s battery to turn on any devices connected to battery-protected outlets. The battery is hot-swappable and the UPS can be monitored via its built-in USB port. These features, among others, make this UPS a great way to ensure that any devices requiring steady, constant power are protected, such as servers, workstation computers, monitors, IP cameras, and more. It also delivers battery-powered AC. Fear the rain and lightning no more!

Cant say much about BH, they are KING. I Just installed this one. But I have a similar 750 that is 6 years OLD ! and still works like a charm. Never replaced the battery and it does not want a battery. Great device. Also I killed the power to my old 750 and It ran my Router, Alarm system for 30 minutes ! GO APC.

Its been in use only for a week but I have no reason to believe it will not work as anticipated. This model has lots of good features and should meet my requirements as a high quality product.

Connected a couple of computers and a large printer to the UPS. When tested, performs exactly as described.

APC Back-UPS ES 8 Outlet 650VA 120V was an upgrade form a similar style 500VA unit I bought something like 5 years ago, which operated perfectly. I decided to upgrade and recycle the whole unit with APC. The return package was thicker than three inches so it couldn’t be dropped in a UPS drop box, so I just left it at the UPS store, no problem. I use the unit on one of my media centers, not on a computer system. Never had a damaged component due to any of the many power outages and lightning storms we have had. I like the long run time, easily replaceable battery, the wide spacing for the four of eight jacks that accommodate AC/DC adapters and the solid construction. My only gripe is that the Power Outage alarm cannot be silenced. In the future, please include that feature and give us the option of a visual alarm, like a flashing LED or strobe light. And please, please increase the amount of time for writing a review without warning us that an automatic log off is imminent which erases everything we wrote to that point forcing us to start over when we indicate that we want to stay logged on. Aaaagggghhhh!

We use this device for every single desktop and piece of networking equipment for our customers. They are easily manageable, and at a great price!

got a loose part inside the UPS. Battery compartment cover is VERY difficult to close with a connected battery.Green status light in power switch is too bright. Very difficult to insert plugs into some of the sockets. Recharges is slow. Expecterd a better UPS from a name brand.

Have used 20+ APC Battery Backups for 10+ years w/o any negative results. Bought 25-650’s in 1995 w/some still goin strong. Bought 10-1000’s at the same time and haven’t even replaced batteries in some of them. Are just now replacing the older units w/new more energy effecient models of the same size. Never considered any other brand, simply due to service and reliability.

Excelent purchase – however it would be better if it came with a little longer battery connector. The battery compartment is very small and the connector wire very short – it takes some fumbling and use of small tools to get it connected.

I’ve used many of these over the years and haven’t had any real issues with them. Great for getting work saved quick in the event of a power outage.

Its sort of a basic thing. It does what its supposed to. I havent run any sort of test, apart from unplugging it from the wall. My electronics stay powered.

I have had many APC units over perhaps a 20 year period of time. They have always been reliable. But a unit that is dead after less than a year has me wondering if the quality of work at APC has deteriorated. I will try another model. I also have a model 850 that was purchased at the same time. However I won’t allow APC another chance if this occurs again.

Recently had to replace an older backup and decided to upgrade to the APC Back-UPS 650. So far so good, no problems and works great.

Great product with lots of nice features. A great product for the price. The only issue I have with these is that they seemed to have shortened the USB management cable. They used to be about a foot longer which makes a difference in my particular office. In the future I hope they lengthen the USB cable.

We always use the APC products for our equipment in home. We have several computers with these units. We have a pellet stove that has it’s own unit to. We also have a heater that runs in a shed outside when our plants need heating in early spring and late in fall to get the last of the food with no waste. We were glad you sent the product so fast. It was the fastest and when we needed it we had in very fast. Thank you, Cherl

I have been specifying and using APC backup products for decades at work and at home with great satisfaction. This unit is for home use. It has plenty of power, outlets that are backed up and additional ones with surge protection. Two great features are a replaceable battery (they’ve always lasted longer than warranty} and the Powerchute application to shut down PC when going to battery power when I am not home , asleep or in the shower.

Installed two APC 650’s and power went out today and beep beep beep. Annoying as can be. User’s manual says can turn off temporarily by pressing ON button twice quickly. That is all BS. Doesn’t work. Go to website and says can manage the beep using software download, but only works for Windows computers. I have all Macs, so APC thumbs its nose at us. Why cant a huge corporation afford to produce the software for a Mac? Just plain lazy !!!

This unit was doing a great job until a power surge in a bad thunderstorm took it out. I had only had it for about six weeks. The good news is that it saved a laser printer and other computer equipment.

Has lots of outlets, some spaced far apart, which is nice for the odd shaped plugins. I also like that the unit is narrow, makes it easier to fit in a tight spot.
