The Back-UPS 650 8 Outlet Surge Protector and Battery Backup (120V) from APC provides backup battery power and surge protection for your devices that require outlet power, such as your computer. This Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) features four surge-only protected outlets and four surge and battery-protected outlets with a total output power of 390W. At half-load, or 195W, the battery can last for up to 12 minutes; at full load, or 390W, it can last for 3.3 minutes. This UPS is compatible with devices that have an input voltage of 120V and a frequency of 50/60Hz, such as those found in the United States.
Beyond the more fundamental functions of this UPS, it also boasts more advanced features. If power conditions change while your devices are connected, this UPS will sound an alarm. If the utility power is out, you can rely upon the unit’s battery to turn on any devices connected to battery-protected outlets. The battery is hot-swappable and the UPS can be monitored via its built-in USB port. These features, among others, make this UPS a great way to ensure that any devices requiring steady, constant power are protected, such as servers, workstation computers, monitors, IP cameras, and more. It also delivers battery-powered AC. Fear the rain and lightning no more!

Dont drop this on your foot as it is heavy. The built-in PowerChute control software worked with a Synology DS714+ NAS device. The NAS device was notified of a power outage and shut itself down! Win!

I don’t know the life span of the whole unit is but the battery is 3 to 5 years and I got 9 out of that battery some people state that surge protectors should be replaced every 5 years and others say 10 years I’m happy getting 9 great years out of that unit. i just replaced it with another back-ups 650 the first one was a back-ups ES 650, the new one is the same with less outlets. I only use it to keep the network up during a power outage. Hopefully this one gives me another 9 years or more

Owned my ES650 for roughly 8 years now and besides a couple of times with it picking up the slack running tv, light and personal desktop computer for an hour or so during power outages I today carried it outside to try it running a Porter-Cable 120V 7.5A impact wrench which it did flawlessly. My Schumacher 1150 portable power station wouldn’t even start it. Excellent !!!

The old one died after MANY years of service so I replaced it with the same one and it does what it is suppose to. Some day when this one dies I will replace it with the same one again. Worth the money and you have plenty of time to shut down when you lose power.

I wish that it just works could be the review for all products I buy, but we all know that is rarely the case. This Back-UPS 650VA unit was easy to set up, and behaves exactly as expected. 10 days after I purchased it, high winds and storms knocked out power to the area, and the Back-UPS 650 did its job. Can’t beat the ease of purchase and delivery from B&H, either.
