The APC Back-UPS BN450M was easy to setup. Just plug in like any power strip appliance and plug in your devices. You can turn off the power by holding onto the on/off button for a few seconds if you need to occasionally reset your cable modem and router like I do.

We have several devices that need both surge protection and UPS. They don’t need to run for hours – just long enough to finish a project or shut down. These get the job done for a very reasonable price.

I work as an IT admin for an organization that we have deployed over 100 battery backups for end users. I figure them in the cost of new machines. The price and functionality of these are great. I love the fact how you do not have to open them up to connect the batteries, the fuses on the bottom are amazing. Currently we run pc’s, mac’s, switche’s, 3d printer, nugget ice machine and much more. I give these the double thumbs up.

The company always use APC, easy to repower, we get 3 or 4 repowers out of a unit most of the time. Helps to know you can easily repower in a few minutes and be back up and running, we keep a few batteries in stock just for this purpose

Time is money, I can’t afford to be out of power. It gives me Hours of Power During Storms and Blackouts.

I am really pleased with this unit so far! It was ready for use right out of the box. Setup was as simple as 1-2-3. Looking forward to years of protection!

This APC UPS is ideal to provide power backup for the cable DVR unit. This protection allows the fact that a power failure or surges will not harm the DVR unit. I recommend this for the cable controller. Use a larger unit to protect the LED TV, if desired

I like the thin design.

I got two of these. One for my router, network switch, PS3, and PS4. The other for my Verizon FIOS box. Both are working well to keep the network and hard drives up during power outages.

Been over 3 years now , out of warranty . needed new battery . Read user paper manual page 8 ,…Battery is replaceable , Page 8 implies APC does NOT recommend the End Consumer to do it . Instead , page 8 recommends an SEIT Service Center to replace the battery . The paper user manual says to take the unit to a Service Center for battery replacement , NOT to a recycle center . Please , read the manual . APC may or may not approve , but i just dropped in a CSB GP 1272 F2 7.2 ah battery. BN450M is better then ever at near 200 watt load . BN450M delivers the goods at 200 watts , when paired with a proper battery . Purchase strategy : If you have No ups , then get the BE650G1 as it comes with a 9 ah RBC17 battery Which will easily run 200 watt loads . If your BN450M is now out of warranty , I recommend replacing the battery at your discretion . If i knew what i now know , i would have gone for the BE650G1 ( to get that larger battery )

I live in Florida where we often have thunderstorms with short power-outages (few seconds). Each time my WiFi and router etc would restart… I’ve bought two BN450M and have connected critical internet equipment to one (router, WiFi, IP-telephone, file servers, total of about 80 Watts), and use the other one for remaining home-automation. I’ve kept laptops and printer and other power-hungry devices off. I’ve had the devices for about two weeks and have already experienced several short power-outages, and (HURRAY!) all my connected equipment sailed safely through without any interruption. (The very first power-outage after installation lasted 90 minutes, and that was too much for the capacity of this power-backup, but my intention was just to handle power-outages of less than few minutes, so I’m totally OK with that event!)

This is our second, both replacing other brands. Cannot be beat for the price.

I purchased this UPS to plug in my network equipment at home. I have my cable modem, switch and network security device plugged into it. This way when the power goes out I will have about one hour of power. The only thing I wish it had was remote management. The build quality is great.

I live in FL and as such we need UPS devices to not only protect our gear from power surges, but also to let us work for a short period if the electric goes down for an extended period of time without losing valuable data. I use various APC UPS on my computer, wifi station and even TV’s so this gear is protected.
