Designed for computers, wireless networking devices, gaming consoles, security systems, and other electronics, the Back-UPS BN450M from APC not only provides power to your critical electronics when the power goes out, but also offers surge, spike, and lighting protection for attached devices. Its sealed, lead-acid battery is maintenance-free and has suspended electrolytes and can be recharged in around 8 hours. When its load is 10W, the BN450M has a runtime of around 214.6 minutes and can also run for 37 minutes when its load is 50W, 15 minutes when its load is 100W, 11 minutes when running a half load of 127.5W, 5 minutes when its load is 200W, and 3 minutes when it is running a full load of 255W. I bought it exactly one year ago. It supports my DVR. This morning, I found that the UPS was not powering the DVR. No lights on UPS, no beeps or tone. Breaker not tripped. If I pressed power for a few seconds, the power light came on and a couple seconds later started flashing green/red with a solid tone. Manual says that means the battery needs to be replaced. There were no indications (chirping, etc.) before this.

Like many, I’m working from home during this pandemic. Living in FL, the lightning capital of the world, we are prone to almost daily power surges or very brief outages. This little guy saves my day (and my electronics).

This is the kind of device that you hook up and you hope not to see it again for a few years. I have it behind my desk and it works when the power goes out. It’s an invisible device that you don’t need – until you do need it… It works great.

Small, efficient and at a great price point!

As a back up UPS it works fine, but buyers should be aware batt is not user-replaceable. Not disclosed

My power in my neighborhood goes out often and this is peace of mind so that I can work from home now uninterrupted.

This smaller UPS unit protects the power for my router, VOIP unit, hue hub and other small devices. I was not aware that barely noticeable brown-outs caused my Wi-Fi to drop occasionally. Since I installed this unit the problem has gone away. I live in an older building in which brown-outs occasionally occur. My desktop computers for photo and video editing have always been protected by larger UPS’s.

So, it’s not just plug it in; you have to do that “connect” thing. won’t work unless… OK, done. But the “green” light never comes on, stays amber. Or is that amber what they call green (but then the documentation talks about “red, green, amber” flashing lights?) Confusing. I really hope it’s working. I’ll probably unplug from the wall to test/find out. Otherwise, I hope it’s a good surge protector…

I bought this for my second computer. The first one I bought performed perfectly; it handles power-outs seamlessly and lets me shut down without loss of data.

Until it died right as the warranty expired. The old versions with replaceable SLA batteries last at least a year or more longer. SLA batteries are recycled by the sellers. Now I have to find recycler to take this dead UPS

I have 2 of these in my home. One for my internet equipment and one for some lamps and wifi expander in living room. They work great and keep your equipment running during quick outages. I have also used them to run a box fan during hurricane outage.

The layout is very good. Unfortunately, this model doesn’t work. We have purchased seven of the current model (with the molded battery connector on the bottom) and three of the previous model (the one where you have to remove the cover and attach the battery cable). The first three (prior model) worked just long enough for us to decide to purchase more, about a month. Then they started failing. The new model fails immediately within five minutes. The unit will beep once and the LED indicator on the power button will start short-flash-green-short-flash-green-long-flash-green and will shut down within 30 seconds. For no reason. Pathetic. We have relied on APC for over twenty years, we’ve decided we no longer can. Tripp-Lite maybe?

The ups is a great deal for the price. I just wanted something to keep my cable modem and router up during brief power outages. The only complaint I have is that I can hear a faint high pitch whine coming from the unit. My MDF is in my bedroom closet so every once in a while I notice the noise while I’m in my bedroom.

Using for cable modem, router, and IOT hub.

Unit arrived well-packed. Good start up directions and provided power during one 5 minute (self-generated) power outage. Haven’t had a genuine power outage yet, so haven’t had a potential surge to evaluate. Size of unit and location of outlets make it very usable.

Comcast no longer supplies batteries for their modems and, rather than buying a dedicated backup battery, I purchased this APC device so now my modem, Airport, and weather hub are all protected from intermittent power outages. Very nice device for the money. Perfect for my needs.

Bought for my home office and worked like a champ. Hooks up all my monitors, printers and PC into one easy-to-use unit.

This unit replaced an older and much larger Back-Ups for my computer and backup drives. It cost less than replacing the batteries in the old one and it has a much smaller footprint. Everything worked great out of the box and there have been no sensitivity issues. Great price and super-fast shipping from B$H!
