My last UPS was 10+ years old and would draw 15w at a minimum (zero load). That’s really too much given all the modern low-power electronics we have today. It was also difficulty to access the battery compartment when it came time to swap in a new battery. This APC UPS is pretty solid so far. Idle power usage is only 6 watts and the battery is remarkably easy to access (no tools needed as it is held in by 2 retention clips.)

Does it’s job. Too new to tell what battery performance and longevity will be like

I’ve had several APC UPS units over the years. They’ve all worked and done their jobs perfectly. This unit doesn’t disappoint–it’s solidly made with the same quality as older units.

APC makes a quality Back-UPS. First thing to do when setting up the UPS device to connect the battery. Follow the directions that come with it and it was simple and easy to do. I haven’t had this very long yet, but a few days after setting it up there was a storm and that caused a surge in power. My computer kept running smoothly and I had enough time to power off the computer and shut everything down. I’m very satisfied with the APC Back-UPS Pro BR 1000VA Backup & Surge Protector.

It is necessary to connect the battery that is included. The heavy gauge wire that is provided does not easily bend to properly locate the end connector to the battery without twisting it. It appears no attention was paid as to how the wire was connected internally.

The unit was easy to install – plug it in – had all the capability needed for a small office. Good value, quality and functionality.

Slim profile. Lots of plugs on the back.

Bought this unit and sibling 1500VA unit. Use with my Synology NAS via included serial: USB cable. NAS detected immediately… use to trigger safe NAS shutdown in case of extended power outage. Am using 1500VA unit to protect Mac Studio and monitor… has performed well so far.
