We’ve used the BR1500G before with good results. The battery is easy to replace and the LCD screen can give pertinant diagnostic information. B&H’s prices, along with free shipping, beat local competitors by alot.

APC is the best name in power. Cleans, conditions, and is healthy back-up. I have five monitors and two desktops plugged in to mine and i can go for 30 mins on battery alone.

Seems to do what I had intended it to do. Back up a surveillance system. Plenty of plugs for other equipment. And if has a sleep mode on it. Don’t know too much about it, as I am not using that function.

Out of the box and into service a snap, except for having to craw under the desk and deal the nest of wires I created a year ago. Plugged in, it turned on, powered the computer, scanner, printer, screen, seamlessly. No bumps on this road.

I’ve purchase two of these and they are great! One is hooked up to an iMac. The iMac recognized the UPS immediately and I could configure it just how I wanted in the power settings under system preferences. I was impressed to find out that it will run the 27inch iMac for 45 minutes. This is ideal given that the iMac is running a very important database server. The other is hooked up to a PC with the Powerchute software. This software is great and provides detailed information about the status of the UPS and previous outages. It’s a shame they don’t make it for Mac, though the built in Mac utility is enough for my needs. Along with the PC there is typically between 6-10 hard drives connected to the UPS as well. With all of this equipment I still manage to get between 15-20 minutes of runtime from the UPS. This is great for short outages and means I don’t have to restart a bunch of hard drive synchronization jobs when the power goes down for a few minutes. I also like the display on the front of the UPS. It’s great to have the UPS status at the press of a button. Also, having 5 outlets on the back for battery power is more than I expected from such a small unit.

I bought this unit to replace a 5 year old 1000 APC unit. I love it! It is quiet and does not generate the heat my old one did. I am going to replace my older 1500 unit with another one of these … to save on energy and help keep my computer room cooler (AND QUIETER!) Also the older 1500 units are VERY heavy and awkward.. this is compact easy to move.

This unit works with my home standby generator. This was the most critical requirement for me due to the frequent power outages I endure. Dominion VA power is not very dependable. Every storm, the area loses power.

We have some machines in our factory that is from Europe so all the internals are 230V / 240V so we use these for the computers that are wired for 230V.

I use this product to protect my computer against line noise and power failures. I like the reliability of them: I’ve had some units for 7 years now and they still work well. I only had to replace one of my 5 units in these 5 years, so I consider myself lucky and it vouches for the quality of these units.

I HAVE 2 HI OUTPUT COMPUTERS CONNECTED TO IT, AN HP ALL IN ONE PRINTER, A KLIPSCH 500 WATT AUDIO SYSTEM, 7 2 TERA BYTE EXTERNAL HARD DRIVES FOR MOVIES AND A SAMSUNG HD 1080P TV/MONITOR HOOKED TO IT. THE UNIT GIVES ME ‘PEACE OF MIND’.

Used in a home recording studio. Flawless and quiet operation and easy set-up. Typical of APC. Excellent product. Received in perfect condition and in a timely manner. Typical of B&H Photo.

This machine runs our entire phone system, as well as internet services.

I have been buying APC uninterruptible power supplies for over 15 years now and they always work great. One of the biggest reasons I buy APC is their dynamite tech support. They really go out their way to help you if you have any questions or problems. The Power-Saving Back-UPS Pro 1500 which I have two of are second to none. This unit is worth it’s weight in gold. It is very powerful and compact.

Use this to provide power to a sound system attached to my Mac Pro.

This definitely felt like the biggest abuse of B&H’s free shipping policy when it arrived. Overall, the most important thing is that it was really easy to set up and connect to my computer. The one downside is that it’s hard to connect several large DC power adapters for external hard drives, so I actually connected my three external drives to a separate surge strip, which was then plugged into the UPS. The front display also gives me a very troubling view of how the voltage in my apartment building varies throughout the day. Fortunately my equipment is now well protected.

I have a very power-hungry Windows PC with 32GB of memory, 6-core Intel 5820K, SLI GTX 980s (two) and ten (10) internal drives (5 SSDs and 5 spinning drives). My graphics cards and CPU are also overclocked. When I game, my system eats around 700+ watts of power. This battery can handle it. It’s the reason I upgraded to it because my old battery would shut down when I started playing PC games because it couldn’t handle the load. I also have two JBL LSR305 studio monitors and a JBL LSR310S subwoofer connected to it. Also connected to it are the LG 34UC97 21:9 monitor and a Sharp 42 4K TV. Handles everything just fine!

This replaced an APC 900 that was about 8 years old and had required two battery replacements. At this point I decided on a new unit. Good decision. This model more than meets the needs of my laptop and twin LCD monitors. The display is very helpful in showing power usage etc. A good solid item for the price. I would have given it a five-star but you cannot know until at least a year.

There are a number of advertising ruses foisted on the American consumer. One of the worst is the so called surge protectors sold in the big box stores that claim to actually protect your valuable electronics in the event of a power surge or lightening strike. Nothing could be further from the truth. When I have thousands of dollars tied up in my editing bay and thousands more riding on an editing project with an imminent deadline, the only product I trust is APC to accurately handle any sort of a power surge or power outage, while giving me enough time to safely close down my system without losing my project. I just added the UPS Pro 1500 to my new Mac Pro 8 Core editing bay for that very reason. It’s the cheapest form of insurance to salvage your project . . . and your reputation.

We live in an area with power outages and have had to have our desktop repaired twice. This product will protect our modem and desktop. We read the product reviews before purchasing and contacted B&H to insure our desktop was compatible with the APC product that we purchased.
