Received a third unit from APC, same switch problem Should have noted that in the last review headline. Going to try the CyberPower unit.

Run a home based business and I’m able to hook up PC, Router, Modem, 2 printers, scanner and still have open outlets on the unit. Backup time once all items are connected is lower than advertised.

This unit is in a nice small package. I like the digital display that indicates line voltage and when power is lost will show how many minutes remaining before shutdown. The battery is easy to install, but without looking real close at it,I would guess you would have to buy a replacement battery. Some of the Smart UPS’s Ive used I have been able to buy off the shelf batteries, but this one is built like a cartridge.

Working fine so far. I thought I could plug a desktop computer into the master socket but the computer seems to draw power all the time so it doesn’t work.

Voltage regulation and power outage protection in a great well-designed package. Perfect for my home office with multiple computers, monitor, and printer.

An older Back-UPs Pro finally failed after years and years. This new one runs my two computers, two 32 monitors, scanner, Epson 3880 and four separate backup drives using less than 1/4 of its capacity. Outstanding. Suggestion: Plug it into a clean circuit that is not carrying too much of a load. Highly Recommended.

I am a video editor and I was looking for a UPS at a reasonable price and I found it in this APC UPS. I have a Dell Precision with 2 Asus ProArt monitor, a LG tv and a LaCie external hard drive plugged in and have had no problems. Great UPS.

We recently had a power interrupt…you know…a car hit a tree in the neighborhood during a wet day. I was on the computer in the depths of a Photoshop session. Lights went out, computer & Hard drives stayed on for the duration of the session & let me power down successfully.

Compared their competitor’s offerings and went with APC for price/performance. The LED status display is well laid out and easy to comprehend.Regards non-pure sine wave AC no problem with my Nikon slide scanner, Epson flat bed scanner, WD, Seagate hard drives, Eizo and Dell monitors and most important, Mac-Mini.

I bought it recently as a consequence of the high temperatures that was causing electrical problem by my area. My new computer was shutting down as a consequence of the consecutive blackouts. so i decided to buy this unit. now my z200 and my old xw4200 are safe. Two things it didn’t come with the software cd, and when I turn it on sound weird around 2 seconds. I don’t know if the sound is as part of the process this unit recognize the electrical or volts.

This is the best APC UPS unit yet. The 1500 adds great feedback for the user. You’re able to view the current power draw for all equipment plugged in, the amount of battery time, input/output, and more. No more guessing. This model is better than the one you’ll find at the local retail electronic stores. It offers a longer run time and the ability to piggy back on another battery for even more time. It will easily take care of a desktop and laptop set up with plenty of power left over. APC does offer a trade in program, but I’ve found its better (for me) to upgrade to a new unit.

The Pro 1500 is excellent when it gets to hardware, but I am deducting a star for the poor software. Its still not a cheap UPS and should have a much better and robust software.

This is my third APC Power Backup purchase, having previously bought the SX1000, SX1300 and the latest Pro 1500. All have operated flawlessly providing uninterrupted power during power outages and surges. It is comforting to know that during a surge or drop-out your devices will continue to operate during loss of power. You can monitor the LCD readout to determine how much battery power (time) you have so that you can plan shutting down equipment safely and at your convenience. I would highly recommend any of the APC products I have owned.

This APC protects a Mac Pro, Mac Mini and some external hard drives. It has plenty of capacity for our workstation/peripherals and was simple to setup. I especially like the digital readout that shows the voltages, current load and estimated run time on battery under current load. The unit also has a nice look to it – I don’t mind having it on top of my edit desk as opposed to hiding it on the floor. The cost was reasonable and B&H, as always, is easy to deal with. A good buy…

I moved into a Brooklyn apartment, an old building. I blew out 4 fuses in 5 days and everytime my computers, back up drives, monitors, etc. just crashed. This hefty battery is the one thing that is saving me from disaster. It will keep running for at least 15 minutes on straight back up battery power and then automatically shut down my equipment–or it gives me time to do it. No more crashing if I turn on a hair dryer while the a.c. is on! Expensive, but worth the peach of mind.

I’m a video editor who works from a home office. If the power goes out, the computers and drives go down. Well, not anymore. The APC UPS has saved my skin many more times than I can remember. I have an Mac Pro trash can and 32 Terabytes worth of drives connected to it and it has not ever failed. In fact, I just purchased my second for another work station.

Works great with Apple’s built in software (you don’t need APC software) that automatically engages when you plug in the USB cord. I’m impressed with the quality and craftsmanship of this unit. Great interface. I’m using it with a 2012 Mac Pro, loaded with PCI cards, filled with HD’s and driving a large NEC monitor and only pulling about half the available load. With this condition, I have about half an hour backup. So the 1500 has plenty of power–I’d probably be alright with a slightly smaller APC unit (thus the 4 stars). Oh well–better to have more than you need when you need it.

This is the second of these units I have purchased. The first is still going strong on its original battery despite being run on many occasions until it shut itself down: we used to live in an area with notoriously flaky electricity, and even after the computing equipment was powered off, I continued to use it to charge cellphones and other mobile devices when the house power failed. But what I like about this UPS unit even more than the robustness of its battery is its form-factor. I find the tall, thin shape very convenient for fitting into tight spaces and I actually find it a bit easier to manage the powercord clutter with an UPS whose outlets are arrayed vertically.
