This unit has 10 NEMA 5-15R outlets, four of which are spaced to accommodate larger transformer plugs, and a standard NEMA 5-15P input connection. It uses an input voltage of 120V @ 50/60 Hz with a 15A current, a maximum load of 1800W, and has a surge energy rating of 4320 joules. There are also two integrated USB Type-A charging ports that provide 2.4A for devices such as smartphones and tablets. This SurgeArrest model utilizes an integrated 6′ power cord and turns on and off using an integrated power switch. Protection is provided by a limited lifetime warranty, and connected equipment that is damaged while the SurgeArrest is active will be covered up to $300,000, subject to APC’s terms and conditions.

After purchasing a new sound bar and Blu-Ray player, my 20+ year old 8-outlet APC surge protector was no longer sufficient for all the devices I have sitting on my TV/audio stand. I found this 10-outlet strip and, based on previous experience and the price, decided this would be a suitable replacement. I am extremely happy with my purchase. Two of the 10 devices that I plug in are USB devices that previously were plugged into AC adapters. With this strip, I can plug those directly into the 2 USB outlets on the strip, giving me two extra AC outlets for future use. Because it is behind my TV stand, the somewhat prominent safe light is not an issue. Having said that, the prominent safe light is nice because it lets you know that the power strip is doing its job. The covers for the unused outlets are also a very nice feature. Very little not to like about this surge protector. Highly recommended.

I like the spacing on the outlets, the dust covers are a top-notch feature, and the beautiful and easy-to-tell protection LED ridge is absolutely fantastic design. I went to a lot of trouble to find this specific surge protector after seeing a youtube test where they evaluated several different models with actual spikes to see which really worked, and which were frauds. My prior surge protector (a no-name from home depot) had a ground pin that wasn’t even connected to the actual outlet ground, and was in effect a ground cheat. I feel a lot better having an electrically sound and well made device.

Ergonomic design, spacing of plugs is good, on off switch which is important to me to save power on transformers when away, green light on clear plastic trim to show its on may be too bright for bedroom but fine in home office. Wish it had a flat plug. Protection is highly rated. I have been fortunate not to test that out.
