Designed to meet your charging needs at home or work, this surge protector features six outlets as well as one USB Type-C and two Type-A charging ports. In addition to protection up to 1080 Joules, the SurgeArrest provides catastrophic event protection and a fail-safe mode. An LED indicates when surge protection is on, and built-in noise filtering reduces the likelihood of data or keyboard errors. Furthermore, this Essential SurgeArrest protector features a U-shaped design that can clip to a desk, office partition, or monitor stand. The clip features a 0.98 to 2.44" clearance, and the power cable is 6′ long and terminates in a standard NEMA 5-15P wall plug.

I was so excited when this came in it has been tried and tested in every way I cannot find anything I don’t like about this. I would like to commend the designer for thinking of us the user. I think anyone would be fortunate to purchase one or more of them I have 2 IPads and a Surface Pro and Lap Topand a Server and Two Desktops and 2 Printers and 2 Faxes and a copier so I know they work with everything and add 2 IPhones. APC is the greatest I have been there ever since the first day of manufacture.

I must admit to wondering about the form factor, but it really is useful. I’ve tried it standing on a desk, around a desk leg, and around my monitor base. USB ports are very useful. I’ve not given 5 stars since I don’t have history yet.

I continue to wonder if the novel design of this SurgeArrest device is worth the elevated cost. The 4.8A USB port capacity is very good, but is matched by many less expensive devices. As is the welcome inclusion of a Type-C port. However, it works quite well, if you have an application for its odd design.

Received this item as a member of the test team. Loved it from the very beginning of opening the packages. Very compacted and can be used in multiple locations. I plugged this item into my main APC unit and using it as addition battery support for add-on electronic like usb mic etc… Very well constructed, durable.

Pro: When I received the APC SurgeArrest Essential 6 outlet unit I was surprised at the quality feel that it had and good weight. I really like the strong clip that holds the unit where you place it, so it doesn’t slide around or slip off the desktop or counter top. The 2 USB ports on top are great, I can keep my cell phone charged right at my desk. The type c port is also a nice feature, I intend to plug in a portable power pack. The other 6 outlets were cleverly located so you won’t have all the plugs visible above or on your desktop or countertop. I guess my only con is the power cord is a bit stiff.

This unit is a really good idea though it is limited to Power and USB when the majority of game/TV units are being swithed to HDMI or other types of higher digital connectivities. My unit was used as a game setup. i.e. plugging in the controller USB charger cables and other than the ‘trip hazard’ it was great with the exception of where it could be mounted, a desk’s top from edge.
