The life of my old battery was about 3.5 years, normal for this application. When I installed the new battery, I still heard the ear-shattering squeal. Turned out, the black connector came loose as I stuffed the battery back into the UPS. Normally these type connectors are somewhat tight; these are not.

I’ve been using APC battery back-ups for many years and I always just bought a new one because it was quicker. This time when my back-up started acting up I decided to purchase a replacement battery, just to see how the whole process worked. I ordered it on the APC site, they delivered it quickly and it was a snap to install. Quite an easy process. For those who have said that APC should provide a means to recycle the batteries, they do. On their site you can print out a UPS label to send it to a recycling center, or they also have a deal with Staples to accept batteries.

This #17, originaly from APC, cartridge is veeeery good. Previos battery I used something like 5 years together with nice and simple workind software I installed on my IMac 2011 for Master Control and better management of usability. But!!! Now battery will work without software support. APC stopped suppotting software for Apple products.. Bed News, and saler do not provide information about…

The replacement arrived in very good time. Installing it went OK even though the instructions didn’t quite match the BE750G-CN unit I’m using. Run time went from 9 minutes to 140 minutes. I had no trouble printing the return shipping label, but it would have been nice to have been given some indication as to what document(s) should have gone into the package with the old battery. I wouldn’t have minded less expensive shipping, even at the cost of a longer shipping time.

I’ve bought off brand replacement batteries for APC UPSs in the past because they were considerably less expensive than the APC ones. Unfortunately, they didn’t last nearly as long as the original batteries that came with the units. B&H had this one for not much more than the off brands, so I bought it. It was out of stock and I waited weeks for it to be delivered. While I was waiting, B&H raised the price on its website by around $10. I paid the original price and expect the battery to last as long as the one that came with the UPS.
