It provides reliable battery power during power spikes and outages and its hot-swap installation allows for no downtime. The RBC #55 contains two battery cells and has a life of 3-5 years. Also included are connectors for hooking this up to your compatible UPS.

B&H Photo worked diligently with me to get the right battery replacements after we discovered that the APC 2200 UPS had changed batteries in the new version. The rep put us in contact with APC and forwarded the pictures of the existing batteries . After APC was able to identify the correct battery replacement, B&H expedited the delivery and arranged for a return of the incorrect batteries from the initial order. Recently purchased these for a customer with an SMT2200 they’ve had for a while now. The cost for the replacement batteries may seem like a lot but when you consider the cost to replace the whole unit and the reduced waste from simply replacing the batteries, it’s really a no-brainer.

Buying the new batteries is much cheaper than buying a new unit if this is the issue. Easy to install.

I’ve had many APC units over the years and found the APC batteries work the best and are worth the extra money. You get 2 batteries like in the picture. For an SMT2200 you can swap out the batteries with the power on. Just unplug and slide out the old ones and reverse with the new ones. Just a few screws to remove. Batteries went right in and the unit picked them up with no issues. The sent being replaced latest 7 years, hopefully these do the same. Much cheaper than a whole new UPS unit. B&H shipped quick.

I will only buy these kinds of batteries from B&H, they are made in USA and APC OEM, don’t risk buying cheap Chinese knock-offs from Amazon…these typically last over 5-6 years and longer.
