   My APC Smart-UPS 1000 ran great for many years. Then I started getting alarms that the battery had reached it’s life’s end. I looked online to see if I could replace the battery myself, and decided to do it. I opted for the APC Battery Cartridge #6, which is listed as the proper replacement for this unit. It was easy to install, and now my UPS is running great again. B&H sent it out right away, and I got it two days after I ordered it.

   Replacing the battery on our customer’s existing Smart-UPS unit was much more cost-effective than purchasing a whole new backup unit -plus the added bonus of less waste in the end. Looks like they got about 5 years on the original battery – well worth the purchase of this RBC if they can get close to that amount of life out of this one.

   This is an OEM replacement battery. It fits and functions like the original battery. As someone mentioned, it no longer comes with a return label for recycling but instead there are instructions included for where to go on the APC website to print out your own pre-paid FedEx return label.

   pay that bit more and get a lot more with OEM spare parts did a SLA crank load test with APC batts and generics…pfffft.. goes like this: 10 years on same older APC batts, running 170w 24/7 days with over a dozen 15 min power downs every summer due to storms season.. delivered semi charged, it will get you by until it fully charges don’t run it full load until its first full charge about 24 hrs, the lifespan will degrade more quicker if you don’t follow the recommendations swap over is a no brainer be aware of the black wire at the back before you shove in the replacement batts And of course B&H service all the way packaging first class

   The battery is a two sealed cell with connector set up That fits in the UPS with very little extra space to Change out batteries. Instructions sounded like it might be hard to swap old for new.but the best batteries fit perfectly. After charging the unit performed a self test and continues to work as designer.
