This APEC polishing carbon filter is an exceptional value for general applications where long life, high purity and low change-out frequency are required. This filter can be used in icemakers, refrigerators, beverage equipment, drinking fountains, under the counter systems, RO systems and in conjunction with purification systems. Cap and body are spin-welded together producing a smooth, consistent seal without the use of glues or binders that can cause contamination. The threaded connections are precision cut by machine resulting in the most accurate and repeatable thread possible. Composed of acid-washed carbon media, this APEC Water filter is designed for maximum chlorine, taste and odor reduction.

30 feet of 1/4″ tubing between my reverse osmosis 4 gallon storage tank and the refrigerator dragged down the flow rate at the refrigerator and produced some significant amount of whinging from my family whilst getting their drinks :(By replacing the standard filter with this 3/8″ post filter unit, and then replacing the 30 feet of 1/4″ tubing with 3/8″, I have improved the flow rate by about 20% at the refrigerator.Perhaps an electric pump would have provided more flow, but I didn’t want the added complexity. This is keeping my family at bay. For now. Maybe I’ll be buying a pump :-/
