The filters are a bit pricier than your PUR filters, but for the projected longevity (depending on how dirty your water is to begin with) I feel like it evens out, especially with the luxury of having faster flowing filtered water. Installation was easy, although there wasn’t any mounting hardware included. The hoses that come with it are very stiff, opted to go out and purchase new hoses that were a bit more pliable.Connections are 3/8″ Comp, had to purchase 1/2″ FIP (IPS) to 3/8″ Comp for my hookups, but works wonderfully. No leaks (yet). Did a water taste between the PUR filter on my old faucet, LA tap water, and this new filter… tastes like the PUR (faucet mount) if not better. Very happy with this purchase.

This is the most convenient water dispensing system I’ve used in my home! Living in Southern California means terrible tasting water from the faucet. In trying to fix this problem, I started by carrying 5-gallon bottles…what a pain! And, they took up so much space in my small kitchen. So, I moved to one of those things you screw into your faucet. Still bulky, but a huge improvement over the bottles. But, these started needing a full replacement monthly. Not just the filter, the whole unit. No good! In a desperate search for something that wouldn’t cost my entire savings, but would allow me to get fresh clean water out of my sink, I found the Apec Under-Counter system. I was a little nervous. I don’t like messing with plumbing because I’m really not good at it. However, this system is AWESOME!!!It took me about 20 minutes to install. Seriously, if you’ve ever done anything with plumbing, you can probably do it in 15. You can mount it on the wall or just set it under the sink. I went with the latter. It installs right in your cold water line…simply; I mean really simply. After that, turn on your water and it tastes great! We’ve only had it installed for a few weeks, so I can’t speak to longevity, but installation was super simple and it works exactly as advertised so far. I’m super happy with it. Thank you Apec for a great product!

I did notice a slight drop in water pressure/volume. Otherwise, it was an easy installation, and it came with new hoses. The taste of the water is great, like it was before they started putting chlorine in it!
