This high-quality icemaker kit will provide you with clear and sparkling ice cubes and drinking water at your refrigerator by routing purified water from your existing reverse osmosis drinking water system. You will never have to spend money on small, ineffective and expensive refrigerator filters ever again. This icemaker kit includes everything you will need to quickly and easily connect your refrigerator and reverse osmosis system. It includes 1 JG quick-connect “Tee” fitting, 1 JG quick-connect shut off ball valve and 20 ft. of JG 1/4 in. food-grade poly tubing. The “Tee” fitting diverts the RO purified water between the fridge and RO faucet giving access to both outlets. The ball valve can be used to shut off water flow to the fridge.

My refrigerator is across the kitchen from the RO system so I needed most of the 20′ of tubing to get the water connected (I had to run the tubing under the floor). I went down through the bottom of the cabinet with the RO system and up through the floor next to the fridge. Everything is working but, as you would expect, there is a drop in water pressure. However, the only issue is that the ice tray doesn’t fill completely. Not a big deal, it just takes longer to fill the ice bin. The kit came with everything I needed except a connecter to join the two quarter-inch nuts (you can see it in the photo). I didn’t have any leaks but there’s a trick to these tubing connecters: when the tube is pushed in part of the way there’s some resistance and it’s easy to assume the tube is in far enough. Not so, you have to push until there’s a full stop, then pull back and insert the ring. I’ve worked with these before and have never had any leaks by doing it this way.
