My family and I have become accustomed to our water well and the taste and quality of municipal water quality varies greatly based on locale. The RO-CTOP has been outstanding and while the taste of the water well is great the TDS is 168 ppm after a 5 micron whole-house carbon filter and 12 GPM UV filter because this water is “hard” due to the dissolved limestone and calcium. I’m in my mid 30’s and have had my fill of kidney stones, the RO system knocks the TDS down to 4 ppm. We’re using the RO-CTOP too as we travel; it’s great knowing that we can have uniform quality water and taste regardless of the municipal supply and it’s already proven itself. Much better than bottled water and we got a great BPA-free USA-made 1 gallon container with spout for storage. It’s nice to have a USA-made system with USA-made components from the manufacturer and not some poisonous export knock-off with claims that are greatly exaggerated. Support has been great, I had to ask a single trivial question and the E-Mail was answered in less than 5 minutes. I would order from APEC again and am recommending them to friends/family who are unhappy with the municipal water supply.

I live in an apartment and this system is the perfect fit for it. The system hooks up to the faucet and stays there ready to go with a twist of the valve. It take about 80 minutes to fill a 5 gallon water bottle. The waste to purified water ratio is great. It barely trickles out. I used to go out and get RO water from a machine. Now, no filling and lugging heavy bottles.

I was so glad to finally find a reverse osmosis system with an easy setup, since all you do is hook it up the the faucet the installation took 2 min and it gets the job done. I had bought a different system recently but ended up sending it back because it seems we would have had to go and buy extra stuff and that wasn’t mentioned in its description. All that is left to do is get the tds meter and check to see if the numbers are good.

Hi guys, I love your filter. I bought it something like 7 years ago. It is one of the countertop ones. I’ve been using that to filter all my drinking water for myself and my wife for that time, and I’ve only replaced the charcoal filter once. It works great – and TDS are still very low. Takes all the chemical taste out of my local municipal water. Also, my municipality has a variance from State DEQ to allow them to distribute more ARSENIC than anywhere else because the ground water here is full of the stuff. I recently started growing microgreens and sprouts on my table top. When some of them didn’t do well, we tried the R/O water…I’m presently doing a side-by-side demonstration, with photos, of two batches of seeds, showing that the tap water sprouts slower, germinates fewer, grows slower and looks less healthy than the same water through your filter. This little report I’m doing is going to go into a video on one of our web sites – and I want to refer customers to you for filters. Thanks for providing a great product that we can fully recommend and demonstrate to our customers and friends!

I bought this unit 3 years ago to take it overseas to improve the tap water at my mother’s house. Since, my sister tells me that TDS is still less than 10 since they use the house intermittently. I added to the unit the ultra violet cartridge because of special problems there. i have nothing but rave reviews on this unit. I was surprised to find out the bottled water had more TDS than the tap water. Since than I never drink from plastic bottles.

The whole family is so happy with this RO water filter! The water in our rental home is very hard, and has a funny taste. Neither the water filter in our fridge, or a filter pitcher could really fix the taste of the water. We can’t put in an under the sink RO system since we are renting short term. This portable system was the perfect answer! We filter water into a two gallon jug with a spigot, so water is readily available. The taste, or rather, the lack there of, is amazing!

That’s why I am so pleased I bought this.The tap water here in Phoenix is disgusting when it comes to taste. Using a TDS meter my tap water measured 612. Retest after filtration through this APEC CTOP gave me a reading of 8 !!!! Miraculous ! I was so happy I made a wise investment for sure. When I tasted the water I could not believe what a difference this RO made. CLEAN and SMOOTH! One tip I have. Let your tap water run for 5 minutes before you start filtering. This allows for any water that’s stagnating in your pipes to clear, resulting in even cleaner water. You can’t go wrong with this. Thanks APEC water for such a fine and effective product.
