At first I bought the model without a case and was happy with it, but wife complained it didn’t look good in the counter so had me change for this version. The water had 460 ppm before this , and after 23, i’m also adding trace minerals. I’m glad i don’ t have to go to the market every week and carry gallons of water everywhere.

I am pleased with this system. I knew I didn’t want an under-the-sink unit because of living in an old house with old plumbing, so this counter-top system was the perfect answer. It easily fits on the counter, and with its sleek design, it also looks good. It’s simple to use; it attaches easily to the faucet. When I run it, I fill gallon jugs to use over the week. The one drawback of reverse osmosis water (and this is true of any system) is that for every gallon of water, 2-3 gallons of waste water is created, so what I do is collect it and use it to water plants.

After extensive research on various portable filtration systems, I finally settled on the APEC Portable 90 GPD Countertop Reverse Osmosis Drinking Water System. I couldn’t be happier. After deep and extensive research, the decision to purchase this system was finally influenced by my conversations with Ben, an excellent representative at APEC. Ben not only gave me key insights into their product, but also encouraged me to research their competitors (which I had already done), even recommending I consider one of them as a great alternative to theirs. Now that’s honesty backed by confidence in one’s own product! In the final analysis, I found no system that had the complete package: solid, US made, tasteful design (I got the one with the case), prices right and a long and credible history of products, including many on a commercial level. About my system: I got the countertop model with the case. Because it looks so good, I leave it on the countertop at all times. After years of lugging around plastic gallon jars from grocery stores, I now make my own gallon to drink at any time I wish, only this time, I use my own container type – glass. I sprinkle in some Himalayan salt for its great mineral content and voila: homemade, portable, consistently less than 7 TDS water in glass container at my reach. The only thing I would recommend is to also add a chloramine filter as many municipalities are now using chloramine instead of chlorine (typical chlorine filters do not filter out chloramine). Other than, it’s been perfect for me. The system is so good that I’m not only buying another one, but have recommended it to so many friends and family members that they joke that I actually work for the company, which is funny because they also think I work for Apple, Vitamix, Vitacost, etc … I do not. I just can’t stop talking and sharing about any product or company that I love so much!

Currently have no r osmosis filtered water to drink or cook with. Have used this APEC Countertop RO System less than 3 weeks. Divertor popped off the kitchen faucet today. There are not enough threads on the divertor inside to securely thread onto kitchen faucet and stay attached! … only about 1.5 – 2 threads max because the washer takes up all the threaded area! This is not an issue with my faucet. The divertor needs to be made longer with more interior threads, since the washer covers most of the threads that are in there now. Dissapointing, heading to plumbing supply to find multiple adaptors to make up for this shortcoming. Faucet is 13/16″ male threaded, APEC divertor is 13/16″ female threaded with very little room to attach. Two male to male extra adaptors in various sizes do not correct this difficiency.

This counter top water reverse osmosis system was very easy to install (with faucet adapter) and works as expected. Keep in mind that the filtered water will come out significantly slower than a regular faucet. Make sure you fill up water containers in advance so that you have water ready to go!
