Replaced my old system with this new Apec RO-Hi unit. Installation was quite easy for a typical homeowner like me. Once the unit was charged and flushed, The system worked perfectly. My water going in to system was almost 300 tds, and the water going out was about 18. This new system produced great water least twice as fast as my old system. Plenty of water for drinking, coffee pot, and cooking. I would highly recommend this RO system. to anyone with high tds kitchen water.

I bought this system to replace an existing RO System. Installation was very simple, allready had existing lines. Even though it may have only added a litlle more time to install from scratch. My old system needed the filters replaced, we had very little pressure. I called the company that installed imy old system and they wanted $450 to replace filters and flush tank. It was about 15 years old. I decided to buy this system instead. The filter replacements were pretty affordable. The only problems I had during installation was the cartride enclosures need to be super tight to avoid leaks. Also the filters that sit on top of the unit,need to be placed properly, otherwise they will leak. After install I did a water test. We have really hard water. The regular water tested out at around 900 ppm. After the install I tested the water from the filter system it was around 60 ppm. Which is a huge adjustment. If i can get a year out of the filter set off about $100 replacement cost, I will be happy! I was paying $150-$250 depending on replacing carbon filter when I replaced themmyself on my old system. FYI I did check a bottle of water i bought at store it was 2 ppm vs the 60 I am getting from the new system. I am happy with that, especially considering how hard our water is and the convenience. I really cannot tell the difference in the bottled water and the filter system. 900 ppm to 60 ppm is a huge difference! Time will tell, and I will adjust my rating as time goes, and I continue go test the water qualify. As for now, I am happy with the system.

I bought this to provide low sodium drinking/plant water since we have a whole house softener. Shipping was as expected and it came in perfect condition. No tears or punctures in the box. It has been installed about a month as of 11/23/19. I installed it myself in about an hour and it was nearly all plug and play. I only had to drill a hole for the faucet and the drain saddle. This model has the 3/8 hose from the tank to faucet for faster dispensing. I chose the larger hose for connecting to my refrigerator water and ice in addition to the faucet. This allows the flow and pressure to remain high enough to run them with less chance of issues. I was relieved to not have to attach the filter assembly to the cabinet wall since our space was tight. The water tastes better than other RO systems I have used in other homes. This may be due to water quality since this is fed by a softener or it may be due to the filter stages on this particular model. I have been very happy with it and now have a hard time drinking any other water.

After much research, I selected the APEC Ro-HI drinking water system because of the highly effective 5-step filtration, it’s American made, it’s not sitting on my counter, I could install it myself, and it is competitively priced. We live in a rural town where water treatment meets the federal guidelines for purification… which are decades old and do not address many impurities such as medications, fertilizers, pesticides, and other substances in our water system. I know this because I had an opportunity to talk with the town water engineer at a community meeting and he confirmed it. I was finally able to cajole my skeptical husband into agreeing to getting this system. However, after it came, he said he couldn’t install it due to his difficulty in getting under the kitchen sink. So, I tackled it myself, with his occasional help when two people are needed (e.g. holding faucet on top while tightening underneath) or when I wasn’t quite strong enough to tighten a nut. I’m an active 62-year-old in reasonably good physical condition, so I could accomplish most of the installation without help. I studied the written instructions and watched YouTube videos as I went along. I didn’t have to drill a hole to install the faucet as I just used the soap dispenser hole. However, there were a few really tight spots where the sink and under-counter space made tightening nuts difficult. That’s when we got creative with tools! I wouldn’t say it was a difficult installation; it just took time to get myself in and out of the space and make sure I was following instructions. The initial installation went well with only one leak where I hadn’t completely inserted a quick connect hose. (Remember to have a bucket and towels in place when you start!) That was easily rectified and we’re now producing incredibly wonderful drinking water at our kitchen sink! I’m really happy we went with the high flow faucet; it makes filling a glass or other container so quick and easy. KUDOS APEC! And, thanks!
