My well water was analyzed prior to installation with Arsenic level of 55 ppb (20 AS5, 35 AS3). After installation, my well water filtered only using APEC RO was analyzed with Arsenic level of 2 ppb, well below the 10 ppb required limit. Installation was simple. The 3/8″ flow from the faucet is notably greater than th 1/4″ flow from ice maker.

Installation was pretty easy even with my very tight under-sink arangement. Being able to split where the tank and filters are is a huge plus. The high flow that this puts out puts it miles ahead of the other systems I’ve used. It can fill a glass almost as fast as the sink itself whereas one with a 1/4″ output takes far too long to be worth it. The star it loses is from the initial time it took to clear the system. It says to cycle the whole system twice to get it clean but it took me 4 full cycles plus about 8 hours of leaving it running before it stopped leaving white particulate in the water. After that excessive process to clear it out the water has been perfect and tastes great (like nothing). I just don’t look forward to spending two days clearing out the filters every year when I have to change them.

So I’m a returning customer. We had bought a unit for our current house and love it. We upgraded to the 3/8” pipe and added the pump and a larger tank (gallon) it was a huge game changer for our family. Instead of carrying around tons of bottles of water to make baby formula we now had bet water on tap! Also really helped with our humidifiers in the winter. The upgraded tank allowed us to fill 3 humidifier tanks with no problem. The water quality is second to none. Everyone who comes in our house always notices how great our water tastes. Wow, very impressed. My Total Dissolved Solids was around 200 parts per million before installing this RO system. After installing, TDS is around 10 parts per million. For comparison I measured name brand bottled water which had 35 parts per million.

The system and tank did take up more room under my sink than I was expecting, but nothing other than what was advertised. I would just suggest you measure first if you have a tight space. Purchased this system to replace a carbon water filter and what a difference! The installation was simple and well explained in the paperwork that came with the filter. All of the components are high quality and heavy duty – the faucet looks great! I was worried that the faucet would be a part that fails after some use, but this one is solid and much more durable that I had anticipated. The water tastes great and replenishes itself faster than we drink the water. This unit is supporting a family of 4 and we drink a lot of water – the unit has been able to keep up with the family. The flow of water from the faucet is fast, so no complaints on having to wait for filtered water. I highly recommend this unit – it is definitely worth the price!

I had an RO-45 for about 15 years, and I needed an upgrade after having 2 kids. So I went with the RO-Hi with the 14 gallon upgrade. First, I forgot that I needed to buy more tubing, not knowing that the tubing from the faucet to the system is a different size than the RO-45. Second, I reused the tubing from the water source which was installed by a plumber, but I didn’t realize that there was a plastic insert in it! That was a horrible waste of time and brain cells. The plastic end up getting caught in the quick-connect fitting. So I had to reconnect the tubing which was able to allow me to remove it. Then, I had to cut the tubing. When I have the plumber over, I’ll need him/her to replace the tubing as it is a special connection to a water source now that the tubing is a few inches smaller than it was 15 years ago. The only other hard thing was attaching the tubing to the faucet. I’m 15 years older and OMG, it is much harder on my back getting under the sink with a flashlight and arthritic hands. But, after all that it the system works perfectly, and we love it. The bigger tubing makes the water come out much faster.

I bought this unit a month ago. It is the same unit that I installed under the kitchen sink when I built my home in 2009, except I bought the 14 gallon tank with this unit. I am on my own well and my well water is very hard. I have a whole house filter and a water softener. Both the R/O units are installed down stream of the water softener. Although I have changed the filters and membrane on the unit under the sink, I could not see any signs of build up. Realistically, a filter change once every five years is adequate for my applications. The first unit is used for drinking water and we have never had an issue with taste or oder. The second unit, my wife uses for watering her many plants. Plants definetly do better with R/O water. The 14 gallon tank easily gives her 4 gallons of water in one filling.

This is my 3rd purchase of an Apec RO system. The 1st one was left at the home we sold. It was also a selling point for that house.the 2nd one was purchased for our adult children when they rented a apartment. It was the tankless system and finally the RO-HI 90 gpd for our new home. Needless to say we wouldn’t buy another brand of RO systems. The systems are not all created equal. About this system purchase. We live on a property with well water. We added the uv and pH option. Typically we install our RO systems in the basement no more then 25 feet away. I find it alot easier to maintain the system when your not crammed under a sink trying to change filters. The key to this is your line from the system to the faucet can not run more then 15ft vertical and 40ft horizontal. Instructions are pretty self explanatory. If you have basic plumbing skills this system can be installed by you or if your don’t feel comfortable doing the install your self , well then you get a plumber. Every penny spent on these systems pay you back tenfold with crisp clean safe drinking water. I love these systems for the quality and reliability. Hopefully this review helps that person who wants an RO system but isn’t sure which one to purchase. I researched these for over a year before we decided on Apec.. comparison after comparison these systems take the number 1 spot.
