All filters are made in USA and the housing is a quality made housing. This was only slightly more expensive than the carbon based water filter I used in my previous house. Installed 3 weeks ago and the water tastes good. I don’t notice noise from the permeate pump like other reviews complain of. Glad I upgraded to the 14gal tank and 3/8” lines. However, I was disappointed that the feed line to the RO system wasn’t also 3/8”. The water from my water softener to the RO system has a consistent TDS of 72. The water coming out of my RO perm system jumps around between 32 and 46 TDS. I expected a lower TDS or at least a consistent low 30 TDS test result.

Have been using the system for about a month now, it works well and we’re happy with the product now. Couple significant bumps in the road however:Installation – everything was going fine until I got to the last step, installing the faucet. We have an undermounted kitchen sink that’s supported with a wood frame. I found the wood frame, plus the stone countertop, resulted in the faucet stem being too short. Not sure how common this is but would have been nice if the website or instructions specified maximum counter-depth to check before getting started. Just looking at the faucet stem I wouldn’t have guessed this, and I didn’t think my set-up was that non-standard. As at that point I had everything else installed, including drilling into the drain pipe and attaching the waste line, I was committed. I ended up drilling into the wood using a 1 1/4″ spade bit, creating a ‘flat hole’ big enough to accommodate a 1″ washer (procured myself) and tightening nut to secure the faucet. This was the worst part given I had to contort myself to drill up into the wood in the small space between the sink, pipes, and wall. Not fun.Within 48 hours – two pre-installed elements (the cap on top of the water tank and one of the pre-installed filters) developed slow leaks. The first one (water tank) started immediately, so was caught quickly. I had to tighten the heck out of it before it would stop completely. Can’t imagine if my wife had to do this. The second leak, with one of the line connections to a pre-installed filter, started leaking almost two days after the system was installed and in use. We’re just lucky that we caught it relatively quickly after it started leaking. It could have easily been missed as it’s concealed under the kitchen sink, in which case some water damage would have been likely.Aside from these issues, the system is now working fine and we’re enjoying the convenience of having a quality water filter system. I honestly would have thought twice about it though if I’d known I was going to encounter the above. Especially with the leaks, their QA process needs some improvement.

Product is extremely easy to install. Components vary in quality from good to excellent. We just installed this, so I have no idea of the longevity or quality of output water. All things considered, this seems like an excellent system for the price. Water tastes good. I have not done any chemical testing (TDS, Ph, or ORP).

Like other reviews it does make a clicking sound to catch up with the well. You may choose to want to mount it not in an area where you hear that sound. The water it created is delicious.

I recently purchased the RO-PERM reverse osmosis system. I have 3 young boys and I want to make sure I am giving them the cleanest drinking water I can. After much research, I decided on a reverse osmosis system from APEC water due to the high quality of your products. I installed the system in our basement so I would have more room under my kitchen sink. It was easy to install thanks for the great instructions. The hardest part was snaking the longer water line across and through the basement ceiling to get to the kitchen sink. Thanks for the great product.

Purchased this product after a lot of researching. It provided me with high RO filtration with the bonus low water pressure boost. Installation took all of 30-45 minutes, and that included routing a water line to the fridge. Water is fantastic! The system operates just as promised. The housing is very solid and you can tell it is meant to last. Very good buy that anyone can install with some standard hand tools you probably already have in the garage. Plan on buying a second unit for the rental property.HIGHLY recommend this for anyone who need a quick and high quality filtration system.

This is my second RO unit. The first was a WAY overpriced unit I paid to have installed. As the cartridges were in need of replacement, I decided to look into APEC. I live in the country and have a well, so pressure was variable. The RO-PERM was amazingly easy to install and the unit worked right off. TDS went from 267 to 15. Output pressure more than doubled from my previous unit. The permeate pump is quite audible, but I isolated the unit and wrapped the pump in rubber sheeting. Still a little audible, but once the tank is full it does not run enough to be a problem.

Purchased this system because of all the positive reviews. We are on a well and the water pressure is sometimes near the lower limit of the requirements of the standard Ultimate system, so Apec recommended the Permeate system. Found the installation easy and instructions very well written. Wanted a different faucet than standard, so did pay extra for that. I also upgrade to the 3/8″ output filter for improved flow and I’m extremely pleased with the water flow. I added a line to the refrigerator water/ice maker using 3/8″ tubing and stepping down to 1/4″ behind the refrigerator as it was over 10 feet away. The water tastes great and the flow is very good. The permeate pump does make some noise, but not bad and I haven’t tried anything to quiet the noise yet. In use for 2 weeks, so we’ll see how it holds up. Would give 5 stars, however HD doesn’t allow you to substitute items you don’t want when upgrading, so I ended up with an extra faucet and filter.

The RO-PERM system is simply amazing. My house water pressure measures around 35 psi. Due to the low pressure I have had trouble with other RO filters producing enough water. The RO-PERM system completely eliminated the pressure problem. Using the free gift TDS meter my source water measured at 376! The RO-PERM filter reduces the TDS amount to 13!! It is great to know that I now have clean and healthy drinking water and ice for my family, dog, and aquarium!!

We bought our RO-PERM system with the upgraded faucet in December 2010. I was surprised to see that it all came in one neatly packed box. The instructions were so easy to follow, and the pictures were so good you almost didn’t need instructions. I did have to purchase a different refrigerator connection, which I used the hose for the refrigerator and the water line tap to connect the main line. My house is over 100 years old and didn’t have the right connections. I drilled a new hole in our porcelain cast iron sink for the new faucet, which looks great. Everything else has the quick connect fittings, and no leaks. The TDS of our water before the system was 242, and after was 10. The water tastes so good now and the ice cubes are clear. We would recommend your water systems to everyone. We are saving up for the whole house system. Thank you very much.

We have been using our RO-PERM system for about two weeks now. I purchased this one because we have well water and the pressure runs between 30-50 psi. We also use a water softener which leaves some saly=t in the water. TRO-PERM system generates water quickly and the water tastes better than any water I have ever tasted. Besides drinking, we use the water in our humidifier and for watering our indoor plants.

Got the unit and installed it in the basement under kitchen sink. From start to finish it took about two hours. Hardest part was drilling through kitchen sink; I used three different bits and made the hole larger each time till I was at the proper size hole. Flushed the tank 3 times and started using unit. Saves trips to the grocery store to fill three 5gal. jugs for water cooler. I now fill just one 3gal. jug for water cooler. Great to now easily use premium water for coffee and tea as well as for cooking. Tap water had chlorine taste but wasn’t bad. Filtered water has almost no taste. Tested water from tap and it was 105 to 180 ppm during different tests. Filtered water comes out a 3 to 8 ppm. Quite happy with product.
