I had problems with my old osmosis system. It had an open air type faucet that became clogged with iron bacteria slime causing it to leak water into my sink cabinet. I have since added an in line chlorinator and a contact tank to treat the bacteria. This was followed by a carbon filter that removes the chlorine. My new Apec RO 90 unit has the added calcium cartridge that raises the ph. The water tastes very good and the output is outstanding. We now have great water that my tds meter has measured at 21 total dissolved solids. The water coming in to the RO unit had 264 tds so this unit is very effective . As previously stated, I definitely would recommend this RO unit.

My tap water tests at 90ppm with a tds tester. So it actually is relatively clean. But regardless of the low number, when I drank the tap water, it dried out my throat. And gave me heartburn. No filters helped with the issue. I also wanted something that filtered out the fluoride the city adds. I tried a water distiller. Because that and RO are the only methods that do that. But the distiller took to much time and used a lot of energy to make a gallon of water. So I went back to buying bottled water. I was spending $30 a week on Essentia brand water. After much research and review reading, I decided to go with the Apec ro-ph90. And let me just say, it is worth every penny. Installation took me about 2.5hrs. It would have took less time, but I was dealing with a 1950’s plumbing arrangement under the sink. But it is super easy to install. Everything you need (besides the few tools needed) is in the box. It comes packaged nicely. And the majority of the unit is assembled when you take it out of the box. The instructions they give you are great. Apec also has helpful YouTube videos.So far, its all pro’s and no cons. The water quality it produces is fantastic. And its nice having the remineralization alkaline step. The water now tests between 9 and 11ppm. I no longer have to run to the store to buy expensive water. Because I have all the fresh clean smooth tasting water I need, rite in my kitchen. And it no longer causes the issues I had with the regular tap water. Tea and coffee taste better too. Plus the system as a whole, seems to be of great quality construction. The faucet it comes with, has a classy look to it. And is well made. This is my first RO system. So I have no comparison to others. But the system runs almost silent. And makes plenty of water to keep up with your needs. I cannot emphasize enough on how happy I am that I purchased it.

I have had the system a couple of months now, and it has worked perfectly and beautifully since the first day. I have a fairly small townhouse kitchen, and was prepared to put the filters under the sink, and the tank in the lower part of the cabinet to the right of the sink. However, all of it fit under the sink. The faucet is slim and curves nicely, you don’t really notice the addition to the sink. And it is just wonderful, and reliable. I tested the before and after with a Total Dissolved Solids meter, and it is delivering as promised. My roommates and I are using it, and I am filling up 2 1/2 gallon jugs for two friends as well. During the covid-19 stay at home, it was (is!) so great to have my clean water here in the house, and not have to choose between driving to the store for safe water without toxics, and drinking city water downstream from many communities with many toxics. I bought the larger-tube, 3/8″ delivery system, and I would recommend that – the pressure is robust enough to fill my sports bottles, etc. promptly. I haven’t run out of water at all. My ex-husband installed it, it took about four hours overall from start to finish being very careful, and it hasn’t leaked a drop anywhere. My only comment is that the entire thing came in styrofoam packing which is not recyclable. For such a conscientious company, I would think they would try to use natural materials and not contribute to creating the toxics we are trying to filter out of our water. I think the type of plastic of the rest of the system is recyclable, but there are many eco-friendly packaging options on the market besides styrofoam. Thank you for such a great product, with high quality throughout. I’ve been drinking reverse osmosis for 35 years with various systems, and this is the best yet. And customer support was excellent, patiently answering many questions as I learned about under-the-counter systems.

We recently purchased the RO-PH90 system and we are extremely happy with the choice. Firstly the addition of the Alkaline filter merits a standing ovation. Super easy to order, I would just add more details in a more visible way on where the parts are made, what about BPA, etc. as people buying this type of product are interested in these details. Delivery was very fast, and our plumber installed it with no issues. Water tastes great! Overall great impressions!

Several years ago we had an RO water system that I generally liked, but we got one replacement system that had a problem and ended up costing over $300 one month in waste water so we uninstalled everything and went back to buying bottled water. My son put an Apec system in his kitchen remodel about a year ago and loved it, so I started looking into RO units again. After shopping around, I too settled on the Apec for several reasons, mostly because of the six stage filters; we live in an area with extremely hard water and even Culligan can’t keep up with good tasting water for very long. I also liked the 95 gallons per day because I also give my animals RO water for their health, with great danes that means at least a gallon a day just for them and that’s not counting the ice that gets made in the summer, or gallons of tea and drinks. It was extremely easy to install, and worked like a charm from the start! It’s saving us about $500 per year after figuring in the cost of our unit, our water bill, and basic upkeep and is so convenient since now we aren’t lugging huge amounts of ice and bottled water from the water store home every other week. We love it!
