The permanently attached Apple Thunderbolt Display Cable was going bad at the connector end where it connects to my Mac. The display would intermittently go black, a little jiggle would temporarily fix it, but not forever. Unfortunately, the replacement cables are not available, however on the back of the display there is an extra Thunderbolt 2 port that can function as a display audio video source. Problem solved.

I can’t stress enough on how I only use original parts.. it works, i can relax knowing it wont fail me….

Worked as stated.

I question myself using a longer wire for high speed data transfer, but this cable has zero timing issues with my older and my new M1 Mac.

While it’s the longest thunderbolt 2 you can buy from Apple… it also falls short of expectations. We are glad that USB-C and Thunderbolt 3(/4) have replaces this design.

Cables are needed, not exciting. So when they work for my computer they work for me! ; )

I’m sure the wire is fine but regardless of apple assuring me before hand that I could make an external monitor from my 2011 iMac to my 2020 iMac with a thunderbolt connection and adapter you can not. Wasted my money and time on this.
