The Apple 13″ MacBook Air features Apple’s first chip designed specifically for Mac. The Apple M1 integrates the CPU, GPU, Neural Engine, I/O, and more into a single system on a chip (SoC). Tackle your projects with the fast 8-Core CPU and take on graphics-intensive apps and games with the 7-core GPU. Accelerate machine learning tasks with the 16-core Neural Engine. Complete with a silent, fanless design and up to 18 hours of battery life, the MacBook Air is still portable, but now a lot more powerful. It also has 8GB of unified RAM and a 256GB SSD.
With over 4 million pixels, the 13.3″ Retina Display features a 2560 x 1600 screen resolution and a 16:10 aspect ratio for 227 pixels per inch (ppi). The display also features up to 48 percent more color than the previous generation. With True Tone technology, the white balance automatically adjusts to match the color temperature of the light around you for a more natural viewing experience.
Connect to the internet via Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) and use compatible wireless peripherals and accessories with Bluetooth 5.0. The two Thunderbolt 3 ports provide USB4 support and can even connect to the Apple Pro Display XDR in full 6K resolution. Apple also included studio-quality mics for clear recordings and calls. There is also Apple’s latest camera ISP in the M1 chip, which enables sharper images and more details in shadows and highlights in video calls. Keep your MacBook Air secure with Secure Enclave in M1 as well as Touch ID. The Touch Bar allows for shortcuts, the backlit Magic Keyboard provides a comfortable typing experience, and the Force Touch trackpad allows for precise cursor control, pressure-sensing capabilities, and Multi-Touch gestures.
Please note that this MacBook Air can only output to a single external display with up to 6K resolution at 60 Hz.
This Mac comes preloaded with macOS. Updates can be downloaded for free via the Mac App Store. Please check Apple’s website for upgrade eligibility.

Nice machine will be purchasing the MacBook Pro when the new model comes out but for now this fills my needs for everyday use. Fast, storage is sufficient and overall the user experience is phenomenal. I will be adding a windows VM however that should complete everything I need to use it for. If you on the fence don’t be buy it you won’t be disappointed.

After closing the lid with a pen in it (DON’T!) I had to replace my current MBP due to a non-functional screen. Luckily the M1’s had found their way into production, but I had to choose between the AIR and the MBP. I am not a heavy user, and this was an unexpected (and unwelcomed) expense, so I was leaning towards the AIR, but dubious. I watched all the reviews, and settled on the AIR. Next, choose between 8GB and 512GB or 16GB and 256GB. Consulting with a former Apple Genius, I went with 8 and 512… good choice. The lightning fast M1 chip compensates for the missing RAM, and I’ve found no reason not to love it. Probably should have gone with 16 and 512 ‘just in case,’ but I’ve not seen any slow down, in fact, it’s faster than the Intel MBP I personally ruined.

Have been working from MacBook Pro (2011) model with internal 500Gb SSD and 16 Gb internal RAM. I thought this was a big improvement from that ancient architecture. Boy did this Mac Book Air with M1 chip and 16Gb RAM and 512Gb SSD is really fast. Keyboard is a pleasure to use. Still many options available and not utilized with Big Sur OS. I am not disappointed with this platfom. Great job Apple

Replaced an older Air. This new one is great, long battery life and I like that it unlocks with my Apple Watch. B&H got it to me quickly and had the upgraded model in stock when others did not.

Recommended by my son. So many good features. Fingerprint touch activation, extremely fast, easy quick mirror casting, very clear screen with video chatting and streaming. Full acceptance of Google and gmail. Built-in virus protection. Lightweight and portable, and so much more. I was a Windows user 20 yrs, Mac was easy to get used to. Slightly smaller screen, but the many good features more than compensate.

Upgraded to this 2020 MacBook Air M1 at the best price I could find anywhere with free shipping included. B&H is always the first and last place I look for great deals and service.

B&H sent my package through DHL – this is the best option if you live abroad – international orders are not a problem – with DHL you are assured to receive your items from B&H. Purchased a 16 gigabytes of ram and a 1 terabyte ssd – I may have been able to get by with a 512 but I prefer local storage and cloud storage over external hard drives. It is cheaper to get a 256 and purchase a terabyte external ssd. The MacBook Air was purchased to replace an older MacMini which can no longer be upgraded but is needed to run older applications. The Air runs smoothly with no noticable lag on any of the apps I use specifically google drive, pages, mail, google mail, audiobook binder, iMovie, simplemind, Splashtop, WhatsApp, zoom, pixlmator, handbrake, Plex, keynote, numbers, and vlc. I do some video encoding but the files are not more than 15 minutes so the hit to the cpu is minimal – so I don’t need the cooling of a pro model. I appreciate the size and screen which is not far off from the 13 inch pro model – in most indoor environments the 400 nits is enough for what I need to accomplish – still next to a an iPad you will notice the screen is not as bright. I have owned a 2018 MacBook Air and this M1 version is noticeably more responsive opening apps and encoding video and audio files – the keyboard is good and not a problem – although I am not a touch typer I do prefer limited travel as I have grown accustomed to typing on iPad screens for extended periods. if you need MacOS and prefer a lighter laptop and do not need to encode video or hundreds of jpegs or pngs then this is your machine – if longer battery life is important and you don’t mind a Touch Bar then go with the MacBook Pro – Either way you will not be dissapointed.

Can’t believe how fast this laptop is. The battery life is also outstanding can’t wait for the M1 chip to develop even further. I also can’t wait for the desktops to be converted over to Apple’s own chips.

I needed to upgrade my 2017 MacBook Pro and recently got into shooting and editing video. Knowing I needed more horsepower than what I had traditionally purchase-a middle of the road graphic design setup-I sprung for a top-of-the-line M1 Max build with a 13 screen. I also have a larger, 16 model as a work-issued computer, and I have to say I don’t notice an exponential difference with the larger display. I usually keep my laptop plugged into an external monitor at home but like the portability a laptop offers when needed. Even if you just use the screen of the laptop as your main display, I would still recommend saving a few bucks and going with the 13. I like to keep my laptop in a padded sleeve inside of my backpack for extra protection while traveling and the extra size of the 16 gets to be unwieldy. Even without the extra protection, the smaller platform will travel better and more easily fit into most backpacks than the larger 16 model. The new M1 Max chip hasn’t disappointed and screams through footage way faster than my previous machine. Thank you Apple for bringing back all the ports thus streamlining the download of footage and photos while on the go without the need for another dongle or adapter. Overall, a solid upgrade over previous models.

Pros: 1. Battery life is amazing – I can edit photos in Lightroom for basically an entire workday without needing to charge. It’s perfect for getting work done while traveling. 2. I like the build, keyboard, touchpad, and just about everything about it. 3. Super speedy M1 processor. 4. Small form factor, but very usable. Cons: 1. The camera is HORRIBLE. I’ve seen webcams from 20 years ago that have better image quality than the built in camera. This is really unacceptable in 2021, particularly since video calls have become so prominent. 2. No SD slot. Overall, it’s BY FAR the best small laptop I’ve ever used. It’s almost perfect. It does everything you want a laptop to do, and does it in an extraordinary way – except that the camera is complete garbage.
