The Apple 13″ MacBook Air features Apple’s first chip designed specifically for Mac. The Apple M1 integrates the CPU, GPU, Neural Engine, I/O, and more into a single system on a chip (SoC). Tackle your projects with the fast 8-Core CPU and take on graphics-intensive apps and games with the 7-core GPU. Accelerate machine learning tasks with the 16-core Neural Engine. Complete with a silent, fanless design and up to 18 hours of battery life, the MacBook Air is still portable, but now a lot more powerful. It also has 8GB of unified RAM and a 256GB SSD.
With over 4 million pixels, the 13.3″ Retina Display features a 2560 x 1600 screen resolution and a 16:10 aspect ratio for 227 pixels per inch (ppi). The display also features up to 48 percent more color than the previous generation. With True Tone technology, the white balance automatically adjusts to match the color temperature of the light around you for a more natural viewing experience.
Connect to the internet via Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) and use compatible wireless peripherals and accessories with Bluetooth 5.0. The two Thunderbolt 3 ports provide USB4 support and can even connect to the Apple Pro Display XDR in full 6K resolution. Apple also included studio-quality mics for clear recordings and calls. There is also Apple’s latest camera ISP in the M1 chip, which enables sharper images and more details in shadows and highlights in video calls. Keep your MacBook Air secure with Secure Enclave in M1 as well as Touch ID. The Touch Bar allows for shortcuts, the backlit Magic Keyboard provides a comfortable typing experience, and the Force Touch trackpad allows for precise cursor control, pressure-sensing capabilities, and Multi-Touch gestures.
Please note that this MacBook Air can only output to a single external display with up to 6K resolution at 60 Hz.
This Mac comes preloaded with macOS. Updates can be downloaded for free via the Mac App Store. Please check Apple’s website for upgrade eligibility.

Ordering this computer through B&H was easy. The credit card 0% APR for 12 months promotion made it possible for me to upgrade from my 2015 laptop, plus, I’ll have credit by trading in the old computer. As a nomadic artist, I appreciate not only the size and weight of this laptop, but also the power and programs it comes with. Apple Support is an awesome tool as well. Getting used to new tech can take a little time; having an Apple expert to help me through is great. (1800MYAPPLE) As far as B&H goes, it’s my go-to for photo, and now computer, equipment.

I purchased my first mac a few months ago to primarily use it for LRC editing and for school. It has proved to be exactly what I was looking for. I love how light it is and I have gone about a few days without having to charge it. Shoot, now I want to save up for a Mac Pro but for now, this one will do.

So extremely happy with the MacBook I bought. Will be purchasing another soon!

I am amazed at how fast this little guy is and how it is able to easily handle a large load of simultaneously running apps on a mere 8Gb of memory. Amazing!

Although B&H was back ordered when I purchased this laptop, they delivered quickly and we love it. This was a Christmas present for my wife, and it was late, but it’s definitely a great machine. The space gray color is awesome, it boots up great and fast, Touch ID on it is a great added bonus! All in all, I’d definitely buy again!

In my 2013 MacBook Air, there was a MagSafe connector for the power supply, which was a very important safety feature to prevent accidental damage to the laptop when the power cord was inadvertently yanked by a pet or young children, etc. Additionally, there were 2 USB type A and a mini display port. Now there are only a total 2 USB type C ports, one needed for power supply leaving only 1 USB C port for external hard drive, HDMI connection for TV. printer, etc. So now you have an unsafe power cord connection, and have to constantly switch the remaining port for any peripherals. The M1 chip and display are greatly improved regarding speed and display resolution, but I honestly can’t believe Apple took such a huge step backwards in the reduction of ports and elimination of the MagSafe power connector.

This machine is exactly what I’m looking for. I am not a power user, so the base specs are working well for me. It doesn’t run hot, there’s no touchscreen for the cat’s ears to interfere with, the keyboard is smooth, the trackpad isn’t too big. Pages et al are a great alternative to Office. I had a 2010 MBP that got me through grad school and then some-it went forever, especially after I upgraded RAM and SSD-but got distracted by a PC I thought was pretty for my next machine. NEVER AGAIN. Macs just work. The M1 Air is an exceptional value and I am glad I took the plunge.

I’m super happy that I finally decided to get a new laptop and I’ve been totally satisfied with this one so far. Previously, I had been extending the life of my late 2011 MacBook Pro but it finally died. Needless to say, Apple has made a lot of improvements over the last decade! Not only is the laptop great, but I was amazed with how fast B&H Photo was able to get it to me! What a good buying experience! Keep up the good work!

I work in a 8-core 4.2Ghz 24GB i7 iMac. This laptop is literally twice as fast when rendering in Cinema 4D. Ridiculous!

My previous computer, a 13 MacBook Pro from about 2015, has been wonderful, but WHOA is this one faster! And tinier! I use Lightroom CC a lot, and it is significantly faster than my iMac from 2017 with the 4.2 GHz Intel Core i7 processor (both computers have 32 GB memory). I will have to bring a hyperdrive wherever I go, especially when hooking it up to projectors for PowerPoint presentations, but that’s minor. I do wish the power cord supplied with it (USB Type-C on both ends) with the plug-in adaptor had an actual power cord supplied. Like other Apple power adaptors, this one does have a removable plug so you can hook in a longer power cord, and the added length is often necessary when I need my computer up at a lectern while the projector is pretty far away, but it doesn’t come with a cord. I opted for gold. I like it a lot. I’d been hoping that the color was close to the Rose Gold of my iPhone. It isn’t, but is quite compatible.

Making my editing on the go easy was getting use to the switch from PC to mac, but I see myself keeping this for video editing.

I upgraded to 16gb ram and thus paid $200 more than the base model. Other than that, it seems like a built-to-last laptop which I can enjoy for many years.

B&H did a great job. The laptop arrived on time and without any damage. I would order from B&H again without hesitation. The laptop is amazing. We’ve been using Macs since the original iMac days. This is our 8th Mac computer. They are built to last and, in our experience, have been worth the premium. After all of the hype, we were excited to see how the M1 chip performs. So far, it has been fast! Very satisfied all around.

This was my first Mac purchase. I did extensive research before purchasing it, but I didn’t do enough. Make sure you do your homework before buying this computer. I purchased it expecting to be able to run Windows 10 via Parallels. We all know Mac does a better job of running Windows than Windows ever thought about doing. However, with the new M1 chip (which is definitely fast which is why I gave it 2 stars instead of 1), Parallels is still working on getting all of the kinks worked out so it will run on the Mac M1. Additionally, to run Windows you have to use an experimental ARM based Windows that will NOT run most Windows based programs. Once you have opened the packaging on the computer and find out it will not function the way a computer is intended to function, B&H will not take it back. You can forget about this promise from B&H…If you are dissatisfied with your purchase for any reason, you may return it to B&H within 30 days of the delivery date.

The Apple MacBook Air is great for students. It’s a thin and light laptop that’s easy to carry around, with a battery that lasts through an entire day of light productivity. It has a good keyboard, an excellent touchpad, and a bright, sharp screen. Its M1 SoC is powerful enough to handle most student workloads, and it’s completely silent thanks to its fanless design. It only has two USB-C ports, though, so you’ll likely need to carry dongles.
