The Apple 13″ MacBook Air features Apple’s first chip designed specifically for Mac. The Apple M1 integrates the CPU, GPU, Neural Engine, I/O, and more into a single system on a chip (SoC). Tackle your projects with the fast 8-Core CPU and take on graphics-intensive apps and games with the 7-core GPU. Accelerate machine learning tasks with the 16-core Neural Engine. Complete with a silent, fanless design and up to 18 hours of battery life, the MacBook Air is still portable, but now a lot more powerful. It also has 8GB of unified RAM and a 256GB SSD.
With over 4 million pixels, the 13.3″ Retina Display features a 2560 x 1600 screen resolution and a 16:10 aspect ratio for 227 pixels per inch (ppi). The display also features up to 48 percent more color than the previous generation. With True Tone technology, the white balance automatically adjusts to match the color temperature of the light around you for a more natural viewing experience.
Connect to the internet via Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) and use compatible wireless peripherals and accessories with Bluetooth 5.0. The two Thunderbolt 3 ports provide USB4 support and can even connect to the Apple Pro Display XDR in full 6K resolution. Apple also included studio-quality mics for clear recordings and calls. There is also Apple’s latest camera ISP in the M1 chip, which enables sharper images and more details in shadows and highlights in video calls. Keep your MacBook Air secure with Secure Enclave in M1 as well as Touch ID. The Touch Bar allows for shortcuts, the backlit Magic Keyboard provides a comfortable typing experience, and the Force Touch trackpad allows for precise cursor control, pressure-sensing capabilities, and Multi-Touch gestures.
Please note that this MacBook Air can only output to a single external display with up to 6K resolution at 60 Hz.
This Mac comes preloaded with macOS. Updates can be downloaded for free via the Mac App Store. Please check Apple’s website for upgrade eligibility.

I am not a tech person; I just want a light weight laptop. I’ve had Air model before, and this latest one is even better. The keyboard is light-touch but still substantial. The retina display truly blows me away, comparing to my older model…I do photo processing of my paintings; color integrity is a big deal for me. So, all in all, money well spent.

I’ve never used a Mac computer of any kind before. I got this because I was tired of my previous Windows Laptops getting slow after the first few months of use. This thing is a joy to work and type on. The screen is a bit small at 13 but the screen clarity and colors make up for it. It is perfect for me to work on small code projects on my couch.

Since the start of the pandemic I’ve worked from home. The only computer I have (iMac) appropriate is in the basement. My M1 Air lets me escape that windowless basement office. Thin and light, impressive screen and performance which exceeds my iMac on almost all counts. Only having two ports bothers me some, glad I got a bigger internal drive. The improvement in my day to day has driven any reticence about buying a first generation M1 Air away.

Software advances had outpaced my 2013 iMac. It still works fine, as does the software on it. But advances in Lightroom and Photoshop – and in some video and audio editing programs were unavailable. The M1 MacBook Air makes it all compatible and portable at an affordable cost.

Regarding the computer – the lack of a cooler is first of all impressive, as well as its autonomous operation from the battery. I used it sparingly the first week – there was only 1 charge !!!! It’s impressive. I chose a model with 16 gigabytes of RAM – the best job and then the best opportunity to sell a computer (it always works). The new system is also a pleasant surprise – now you can download applications from your phone here – it’s very convenient. Advantages: light, autonomous work, Good sound, convenient, existence of the finger scanner, integration with the mobile phone, Disadvantages: Lack of connectors for usb, sd card and hdmi

I am very happy with the service I received from B&H Photo on the purchase. The purchase process was very easy. On the other hand the M1 MacBook Air that I purchased was awesome. Very fast and easy to set up. I haven’t been able to use it for very long though. After receiving and setting it up the screen MacBook would periodically go blank in middle of doing a task. It had to be restarted before it would work. After the issue started I looked for feedback from other purchasers and found this was problem with some of the MacBook Pro’s and MacBook Airs(M1 versions). Apple now has it at their repair facility to fix their manufacturing flaw. I’m disappointed but, looking forward to getting it back (hopefully fixed with no additional issues). This is the first Mac I have ever purchased that had any issues out of the box. I have been using Apple products since 1984. I would give B&H Photo a 5 but give Apple a 3.
