The Apple 13″ MacBook Air features Apple’s first chip designed specifically for Mac. The Apple M1 integrates the CPU, GPU, Neural Engine, I/O, and more into a single system on a chip (SoC). Tackle your projects with the fast 8-Core CPU and take on graphics-intensive apps and games with the 7-core GPU. Accelerate machine learning tasks with the 16-core Neural Engine. Complete with a silent, fanless design and up to 18 hours of battery life, the MacBook Air is still portable, but now a lot more powerful. It also has 8GB of unified RAM and a 256GB SSD.
With over 4 million pixels, the 13.3″ Retina Display features a 2560 x 1600 screen resolution and a 16:10 aspect ratio for 227 pixels per inch (ppi). The display also features up to 48 percent more color than the previous generation. With True Tone technology, the white balance automatically adjusts to match the color temperature of the light around you for a more natural viewing experience.
Connect to the internet via Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) and use compatible wireless peripherals and accessories with Bluetooth 5.0. The two Thunderbolt 3 ports provide USB4 support and can even connect to the Apple Pro Display XDR in full 6K resolution. Apple also included studio-quality mics for clear recordings and calls. There is also Apple’s latest camera ISP in the M1 chip, which enables sharper images and more details in shadows and highlights in video calls. Keep your MacBook Air secure with Secure Enclave in M1 as well as Touch ID. The Touch Bar allows for shortcuts, the backlit Magic Keyboard provides a comfortable typing experience, and the Force Touch trackpad allows for precise cursor control, pressure-sensing capabilities, and Multi-Touch gestures.
Please note that this MacBook Air can only output to a single external display with up to 6K resolution at 60 Hz.
This Mac comes preloaded with macOS. Updates can be downloaded for free via the Mac App Store. Please check Apple’s website for upgrade eligibility.

8-core GPU, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD. Small, light, thin. Battery life is all work day plus another 6 hours. Decent keyboard. Great, enormous touchpad. Power key doubles as fingerprint sensor. Seems faster than a recent i7 Intel with separate graphics card and 16GB RAM. Silent–doesn’t even have a fan. My cost was $1,550 + tax, a bargain for this speed and quality. Three quibbles: 1.) Only has two USB ports and one headphone jack. 2.) Charges through USB port, not MagSafe. 3.) Can’t run Apple Boot Camp or Windows yet.

Not a B&H problem, but when I transferred my Intel Mac files to the Apple M1 unit, I ran into some interesting problems. It transferred the Intel versions of Photoshop and LR. I could not get Adobe’s uninstaller to run because it was probably Intel code. I had to just delete PS and LR and hope Adobe doesn’t count it as an installed copy. I haven’t checked yet. Apple should warn about transferring Intel apps or be smart enough to convert on the fly. In any case it was a lot of work.. Several apps did run OK with Rosetta.

I’ve worked with Windows computers for years but always wanted a Mac. When the 2020 MacAir was offered for under $900, I bought it and have been delighted every day since. Love the instant-on feature, the video and movie quality, and ease of navigation. Perhaps the most exciting part of owning this Mac is the speed. I’m a writer and need to keep a lot of tabs open at one time. Not a problem for this fast machine. The keyboard has a great feel when typing and the computer is the ideal size for me, as a woman with average-sized hands. I can honestly say that this Mac is everything I wanted and I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants a blazingly fast, easy-to-use, light computer that can do just about anything.

My first move into the Apple world (from Windows). I do photography and my 9 year old windows machine was just too slow. This MacBook is unbelievably fast. Using Lightroom and Photoshop, everything is instant, no delays at all. Have had no problems at all so far. I also bought an LG 27 inch 4k monitor from B&H and use the laptop as my desktop computer. I’m totally satisfied.

This was a great laptop and B&H is the only place I found M1 MacBook Air basic model on $100 discount. My only reason for 3 starts is the delay. It took about 2 months for the confirmation and delivery. I almost had canceled it. However I got emails from B&H about the back order every 15 days.. I did lost few of my assignments I wanted to work on it, but glad they delivered it finally. I do recommend B&H to everyone, they are great place to buy camera gear..
