The Apple Mac mini now features Apple’s first chip designed specifically for Mac. The Apple M1 integrates the CPU, GPU, Neural Engine, I/O, and more into a single system on a chip (SoC). All of this boosts the Mac mini to an entirely different level, as it features up to three times faster CPU performance, up to six times faster graphics, and up to 15 times faster machine learning with the 16-Core Neural Engine. You’ll be able to work, play, and create on a Mac mini with more power and speed than previous models, making it suitable for home offices, gaming, music creation, digital art and signage, and more. Adding to the Mac mini’s power is 8GB of RAM, which helps to ensure smooth multitasking and also allows the computer to quickly access frequently used files and programs.
The 8-Core GPU delivers a sharp, clear picture, and you’ll be able to output video to an external display using the system’s Thunderbolt 3 ports, which feature native DisplayPort output, or use the built-in HDMI 2.0 port. You’ll be able to connect one 6K / 60 Hz display using Thunderbolt 3 and a second 4K / 60 Hz display using HDMI 2.0.
For storing your files, this Mac mini is equipped with a 256GB SSD that delivers speeds of up to 3.4 GB/s. If you want to add external peripherals, two Thunderbolt 3 / USB4 ports that support bi-directional transfer speeds of up to 40 Gb/s, as well as 10 Gb/s USB 3.1 Gen 2, plus charging and power for external devices. Thanks to two 5 Gb/s USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports, you’ll still be able to connect other devices to this system. Gigabit Ethernet is built in for wired networking, or use Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) for wireless access. Bluetooth 5.0 technology will allow you to connect additional compatible peripherals, including keyboards, mice, and headsets. Sound is output using a 3.5mm headphone jack. Apple’s Mac mini operates using an internal 150W power supply that runs off 100-240 VAC at 50 to 60 Hz.
This Mac comes preloaded with macOS. Updates can be downloaded for free via the Mac App Store. Please check Apple’s website for upgrade eligibility Also, please be aware that a keyboard and mouse are not included.

We retired our aging MacPro 2013 in our office and purchased the MacMini M1 16GB and 1 T SSD from here at B&H as a replacment. Note: A big thanks for the fast shipping and excellent sales at B&H. We normally purchase our Apple products from a local Apple Store but to our surprise they didn’t have this configuration in stock so was pleasantly surprised that our favorite camera store (B&H) had it in stock. We also ordered from OWC their 14 port Thunderbolt 3 dock and this setup works great together. We have small a photography business and was concerned the MacMini wouldn’t run as fast as the older MacPro 2013 but was completely surprised how fast and problem free this new system works together with the OWC dock. Was also glad the Apple Superdrive functions fine too with the MacMini. We still are using the excellent Mac 27 thunderbolt monitor and needed to purchase an adapter to use with this setup and that works fine too. Would describe the system as a simple layout and fast!!.

I got a great deal on this Mac at B&M and am really pleased with my purchase. It’s blazing fast compared to the Intel models and the data transfer speeds through the Thunderbolt ports are a nice surprise.

I switched to laptops a looong time ago. Since 2011 I’m not working on desktop computers anymore. But I just recently started on a new project and was in need of a new M1 mac machine. I was waiting for the 16 Macbook Pro to come up soon because I’m a software developer and need 32GB of RAM. But the laptop is still not there, and I badly needed an M1 mac. I didn’t want to overpay and decided to buy a temporary M1 mac that I can later hand over to my kids. I found M1 Mini with 16GB on B&H ready to be delivered in 2 days and ordered. So far I’m very happy, the performance is much higher than I expected and it never ever speeds up fans. It stays cool whatever I do.

It was hard to ignore all the hype and satisfied buyers so I took the plunge. I love my 2012 Mac Pro but Mojave is the last upgrade available to it and some of the new software out there wants Big Sur. So I received this Mac and spent a day setting everything to be familiar. It does boot up in seconds and overall is quite fast. My only con is that 16 Gigs of ram is max and it seems to take 8 of those just for the system. I also wish there were more connection ports. Overall I would recommend this computer for those looking for a small but powerful desktop model. I have no regrets !!

At first, I was a little bit hesitant to get the M1 chip. But so far, it’s been running so great. It runs a lot faster than my intel 5 MacBook. Even things that don’t run natively, still run really fast and I haven’t had any problems with running it with rosetta. Considering that this is cheaper than previous models, it’s definitely a been a good purchase.
