The Apple Mac mini now features Apple’s first chip designed specifically for Mac. The Apple M1 integrates the CPU, GPU, Neural Engine, I/O, and more into a single system on a chip (SoC). All of this boosts the Mac mini to an entirely different level, as it features up to three times faster CPU performance, up to six times faster graphics, and up to 15 times faster machine learning with the 16-Core Neural Engine. You’ll be able to work, play, and create on a Mac mini with more power and speed than previous models, making it suitable for home offices, gaming, music creation, digital art and signage, and more. Adding to the Mac mini’s power is 8GB of RAM, which helps to ensure smooth multitasking and also allows the computer to quickly access frequently used files and programs.
The 8-Core GPU delivers a sharp, clear picture, and you’ll be able to output video to an external display using the system’s Thunderbolt 3 ports, which feature native DisplayPort output, or use the built-in HDMI 2.0 port. You’ll be able to connect one 6K / 60 Hz display using Thunderbolt 3 and a second 4K / 60 Hz display using HDMI 2.0.
For storing your files, this Mac mini is equipped with a 256GB SSD that delivers speeds of up to 3.4 GB/s. If you want to add external peripherals, two Thunderbolt 3 / USB4 ports that support bi-directional transfer speeds of up to 40 Gb/s, as well as 10 Gb/s USB 3.1 Gen 2, plus charging and power for external devices. Thanks to two 5 Gb/s USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports, you’ll still be able to connect other devices to this system. Gigabit Ethernet is built in for wired networking, or use Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) for wireless access. Bluetooth 5.0 technology will allow you to connect additional compatible peripherals, including keyboards, mice, and headsets. Sound is output using a 3.5mm headphone jack. Apple’s Mac mini operates using an internal 150W power supply that runs off 100-240 VAC at 50 to 60 Hz.
This Mac comes preloaded with macOS. Updates can be downloaded for free via the Mac App Store. Please check Apple’s website for upgrade eligibility Also, please be aware that a keyboard and mouse are not included.

Was easy to setup. I’ve used spare bluetooth keyboard mouse and monitor. Inexpensive way to run Mac OS.

Coming from a 2012 Mac mini, this machine is so quick! I don’t do much on this machine (nor my last one), and I haven’t heard the fan in this thing ever turn on. I did set this up as a new machine, though, so that may have helped some. All in all, I’ll continue sticking with Macs if they keep making them like this. Cheers!

Great performance but it could be a little less big.

B&H shipped my new Mac Mini M1 quickly and I great packaging. Transfer from the existing system was straightforward. The new Mac Mini M1’is super fast, quiet, and is small enough to be portable to any HDMI monitor or TV. The internal speaker isn’t good for much so make sure to have external sound output or Bluetooth headphones.

This mini is VERY fast, so much faster than my previous 2012 iMac I was running. I can play 4 layers of 4k video in Adobe Premiere. All in all I’m very pleased.

Highly recommended,The new Mac mini replaced an ancient mini from 2014. The difference between the start of time, execution of applications, and generally searching the web was outstanding.

Bought this device to replace an underperforming iMac. Easy setup, seamless connection to an older Thunderbolt monitor. Early days still, but I’m looking forward to years of great service. Speedy deliver from B&H — excellent as always!

Good extra memory for a good price.

This has been a big improvement over the older Mac mini I had. It’s fast and reliable thus far and I couldn’t believe how fast I received the item from B&H. Thanks!

Replaced a 2010 iMac that had timed out on operating system updates and some software was no longer updatable. When researched, many of my existing peripherals would work with the Mac Mini so it was less expensive to buy this machine rather than a new iMac. And I loved that B&H had exactly the configuration of Mac Mini that I wanted. The machine is fast. It’s like buying a new car only without that new car smell. I only wish it had a few more charging USB ports. Otherwise, I couldn’t be happier with my new Mac Mini!

I have a year old Intel Mac Mini, 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD, with a Razer Core eGPU and graphics card. I just got M1 Mac Mini, 16GB unified memory, 1TB SSD, no external eGPU needed, ahead of schedule I may add, from B&H Photo and it smokes the Intel model. I’m a full time videographer, edited 3 videos on the M1 and it’s been so much easier. I’d like to also add B&H Photo delivered me this unit very quickly. I ordered it on Thanksgiving day and it shipped the same day and arrived 1 day earlier than scheduled!!! I’m beyond impressed and a true believer in B&H Photo.

The mini is one of the best values for a Mac. The M1 is speedy and does everything I need it to do without a problem (graphics, photo editing, etc.). Plenty of ports, memory, and storage without breaking the bank. Switching from a laptop, the only thing I miss is the fingerprint reader, but you could get an Apple keyboard with touch ID to solve that.

Apple’s latest entrance into the computer market. The M1 chip seems to have really stepped up security. While it runs smoothly and quickly, it does not easily support all those apps you may have for photographs, sound editing, etc. And most of them you’ll only know they need updating when you go to use them. So i recommend you go thru your apps giving the important ones a try to see if anything needs doing before you actually need to use them. As to creating a bootable backup – takes some fancy dancing to get that done. Lots of info online and in Apple info and once you’ve learned it, you can, fairly easily, make the bootable backup. Make sure you understand how to update your backup … it can’t be cloned from your running HD, it actually has to be updated on its own. Someday, this kind of security will be ‘old hat’, but now … take your time and be sure you understand before backing up. And enjoy the new security and speed.

I don’t like Apple. Their business model is terrible but because of their following they get away with it. That being said I was FORCED to buy an Apple product to continue development on my mobile app. I will say that this little machine does everything I need it to do and more. I am able to build my apps in Xcode in no time and the simulator never hiccups. I do not do any 4k video editing but for app development it’s perfect.

On first startup it was a bit of a struggle getting my keyboard and mouse to connect, but luckily I had a wired mouse handy to get going. Installed the full Adobe suite and it works very well even in Rosetta. Native apps like Final Cut Pro fly and open in a few seconds. I’m running duel monitors and it works fine. The thing I love the most is that it is super silent, draws hardly no power and runs cool as ice even under load.
