The Apple Mac mini now features Apple’s first chip designed specifically for Mac. The Apple M1 integrates the CPU, GPU, Neural Engine, I/O, and more into a single system on a chip (SoC). All of this boosts the Mac mini to an entirely different level, as it features up to three times faster CPU performance, up to six times faster graphics, and up to 15 times faster machine learning with the 16-Core Neural Engine. You’ll be able to work, play, and create on a Mac mini with more power and speed than previous models, making it suitable for home offices, gaming, music creation, digital art and signage, and more. Adding to the Mac mini’s power is 8GB of RAM, which helps to ensure smooth multitasking and also allows the computer to quickly access frequently used files and programs.
The 8-Core GPU delivers a sharp, clear picture, and you’ll be able to output video to an external display using the system’s Thunderbolt 3 ports, which feature native DisplayPort output, or use the built-in HDMI 2.0 port. You’ll be able to connect one 6K / 60 Hz display using Thunderbolt 3 and a second 4K / 60 Hz display using HDMI 2.0.
For storing your files, this Mac mini is equipped with a 512GB SSD that delivers speeds of up to 3.4 GB/s. If you want to add external peripherals, two Thunderbolt 3 / USB4 ports that support bi-directional transfer speeds of up to 40 Gb/s, as well as 10 Gb/s USB 3.1 Gen 2, plus charging and power for external devices. Thanks to two 5 Gb/s USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports, you’ll still be able to connect other devices to this system. Gigabit Ethernet is built in for wired networking, or use Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) for wireless access. Bluetooth 5.0 technology will allow you to connect additional compatible peripherals, including keyboards, mice, and headsets. Sound is output using a 3.5mm headphone jack. Apple’s Mac mini operates using an internal 150W power supply that runs off 100-240 VAC at 50 to 60 Hz.
This Mac comes preloaded with macOS. Updates can be downloaded for free via the Mac App Store. Please check Apple’s website for upgrade eligibility Also, please be aware that a keyboard and mouse are not included.

I’m using this as a server for my hone automation including media and website. What a great machine. The M1 chip is fast and the footprint of the unit is small!

Ive been editing 4K footage, doing color grading and 3rd party transitions on my M1 Mini and it doesn’t blink, seamless scrolling and no dropped frames, super fast with other programs as well. Couldn’t be happier with this purchase. 5 STARS ALL THE WAY!

Bought this to replace an aging PC and MacBook Pro. Silent, fast, and has been able to handle everything I’ve thrown at it from music production to gaming to high end graphic development. Could use a few more USB ports, but nothing a dock can’t handle. Great machine, definitely buying another for my partner.

After many years spent working off of a 2012 Macbook Pro, this Mac mini has been a nice change of pace and a perfect machine for my daily computing needs at work. It does everything I need and more. Super excited to see what the new Apple M1 chip can do!

We had an older mac for our design department and it was already difficult to work with. We ordered the M1 Mac mini and it was just what we needed! Smooth as butter.

Fantastic new Mac mini. The M1 chip is awesome. The speed is amazing. Any reservations I had about my Intel apps not working was put to rest when most of them worked right away. I had to reinstall a couple of apps, but it was worth it for the speed!

The Mac Mini is everything I love about a Macbook, but in a small, cost-efficient package. It felt like a seamless transition from my old Macbook Pro to this–I remember the days when getting a new computer set up was an ordeal but this was as simple as getting a new iPhone. It seems to do everything quickly and efficiently; the 16MB and 512GB were probably overkill but I’m confident this machine will last me for years. B&H got it shipped out quickly and delivered ahead of promised date; I’m happy!

We bought this to replace a 27-inch iMac (2017 model) with 1TB SSD and 16GB RAM. The iMac was still fine for most daily tasks, but it struggled with a recent 20-minute video editing project. Buying the M1 Mac mini with 1TB SSD and 16GB RAM was a great upgrade; the renders for the video project went from a terrible 3-hour wait (and jerky previews) to nearly real-time (and smooth previews). All of our daily software is already updated for the new Apple Silicon architecture, but even the few translated Intel-only apps haven’t caused any difficulty. Drawbacks: 1) There really is no monitor comparable to the 27-inch iMac’s 5K screen. We’ve settled on a usable 28-inch 4K display for now. 2) Bluetooth performance is worse than on the iMac. The latest macOS update seems to have helped, but only a little. 3) A USB or Thunderbolt dock is almost a requirement, especially if you use SD cards or need to attach/detach USB devices.

This new M1 Apple Mac Mini is the best Apple computer since the original Apple Mac of the early ’80’s.

I’m a big fan of laptops and never thought I would want to use a desktop, but I’ve recently got this Mac mini and an Air. Best choice ever. The whole set is half the price of a 14 MacBookPro and has plenty of power (I’m a developer) and it takes up almost no space on your desk.

I had my doubts about the Mac mini, but a good friend of mine who is also a loyal Apple user told me that I would be very happy with it, since he also has one and loves it. It doesn’t have as many jacks for peripheral devices as my old but still functioning mac pro tower, but it sure moves a lot faster and has double the hard drive capacity. As my wife said it is amazing how much computer power is packed in such a small package, so two thumbs up for the mac mini with the m-1 chip.

I started with a 512 fat Mac in 1986.Then went to a series of towers that required a lot of desk space, Then I bought a late 2013 Mac Pro that I still use. However the M1 Mac mini puts everything else to shame with its speed.Apple knocked the ball out of the park with their new chip technology.

Wow. Just wow. The 16Gb M1 chip Mac mini has been saving me. Upgraded from a 2017 MacBook Pro. The Mac mini is so quiet and barely struggles with what I’m throwing at it in terms of daily usage and streaming. It’s so quiet that I sometimes forget it’s on.

I got the absolute least expensive Mac Mini … total entry level. I am using it for general video editing … and it actually works. If I had it to do over again, I would have got the next larger hard drive option, as well as the maxed-out RAM option. There is a way to always boot from an external hard drive with Mac, and that is what I have been doing since day one with this new Mini. I am using a very fast OWC external drive ( which cost nearly as much as the Mac Mini ) … so that is how I get around having the smallest internal hard drive in the computer and still do video work … always booting from the external drive has not been a problem at all for speed …. and it is a 2 terabyte external drive. To use an external drive as I am, a person needs to be sure that the external drive you are going to choose is for sure a bootable drive for Mac ( just sayin ). My old Mac Mini was from 2012, so this M1 is a huge upgrade …. Also … I would like to suggest that if you have not done so yet, you might want to read the entire service agreement that Apple has now …. carefully. Meanwhile, B&H as always is great to work with … I have been a long term customer.

Nice small size fits on desk nicely and is very fast but some of my programs do not work with the M1 chip yet.
