The Apple Mac mini now features Apple’s first chip designed specifically for Mac. The Apple M1 integrates the CPU, GPU, Neural Engine, I/O, and more into a single system on a chip (SoC). All of this boosts the Mac mini to an entirely different level, as it features up to three times faster CPU performance, up to six times faster graphics, and up to 15 times faster machine learning with the 16-Core Neural Engine. You’ll be able to work, play, and create on a Mac mini with more power and speed than previous models, making it suitable for home offices, gaming, music creation, digital art and signage, and more. Adding to the Mac mini’s power is 8GB of RAM, which helps to ensure smooth multitasking and also allows the computer to quickly access frequently used files and programs.
The 8-Core GPU delivers a sharp, clear picture, and you’ll be able to output video to an external display using the system’s Thunderbolt 3 ports, which feature native DisplayPort output, or use the built-in HDMI 2.0 port. You’ll be able to connect one 6K / 60 Hz display using Thunderbolt 3 and a second 4K / 60 Hz display using HDMI 2.0.
For storing your files, this Mac mini is equipped with a 512GB SSD that delivers speeds of up to 3.4 GB/s. If you want to add external peripherals, two Thunderbolt 3 / USB4 ports that support bi-directional transfer speeds of up to 40 Gb/s, as well as 10 Gb/s USB 3.1 Gen 2, plus charging and power for external devices. Thanks to two 5 Gb/s USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports, you’ll still be able to connect other devices to this system. Gigabit Ethernet is built in for wired networking, or use Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) for wireless access. Bluetooth 5.0 technology will allow you to connect additional compatible peripherals, including keyboards, mice, and headsets. Sound is output using a 3.5mm headphone jack. Apple’s Mac mini operates using an internal 150W power supply that runs off 100-240 VAC at 50 to 60 Hz.
This Mac comes preloaded with macOS. Updates can be downloaded for free via the Mac App Store. Please check Apple’s website for upgrade eligibility Also, please be aware that a keyboard and mouse are not included.

I’ve been shooting 8k on a Canon R5 and 4k N-log on a Nikon Z7 II and my 2018 MacBook pro was having an aneurysm. I was considering upgrading to a MacBook pro M1 Pro or Max but the price:performance ratio just wasn’t worth it. I got the 16GB 1TB M1 mini on a B&H deal just before Christmas and it is performing wonderfully. I’m using final cut and Lightroom with no hiccups or crashes (compared to crashy premiere pro on a top spec PC with an RTX 3090). I’m running a thunderbolt 3 egpu case with 4 Samsung 980 Pros instead of a graphics card and it’s heaven. My only negative on the mini is it has only 2 TB3 ports. Highly recommend the Mini.

It took quite some time to set it up, but after this necessary period of time, it works very well, as advertised. It is lightning fast. I use it to take care of my pictures with Lightroom and Photoshop, now I can have the latest updates. Great product.

This is the first “early adopter” tech purchase I’ve made. My work is post production audio on Pro Tools for the last 15 years. On Mac, I’ve been had a couple of i7 iMacs, one from 2007 and another one from 2014. I was ready to replace it with an i7 Mac mini. As everyone in this business I was following the M1 craze and, just like everyone, I was wary of incompatibility issues. After dozens of hours scouring for first hand experiences from others in my field I decided to get the M1 mostly for future proofing my purchase. As I started installing all my software I was fully prepared to have at least half to not run at all. To my surprise, within Protools 2021.3.1, every single plugin from iZotope, Nugen, LiquidSonics, Plug-in Alliance etc.. ran flawlessly at a speed I hadn’t experienced in my any of my previous systems. I really can’t believe the performance of this machine, it runs sessions I could even open without commiting or freezing tracks. Now every current protect I’m delivering runs 100% better. Working with video encoded on Prores or DnxHD is truly flawless. Any graphic intensive plugin I own like iZotope Insight 2 for metering is runs great. LiquidSonics Cinematic Rooms Pro runs on almost double the amount of channels without clicks or pops from the interface. Running IZotope RX7 as audiosuite or sending clips to Connect round trip with RX7 audio editor works. As of yet the system shows no hangs or has crashed. The only plugin vendor I own that doesn’t work as of this posting is Waves, but it doesn’t really affect my workflow currently. I still have my previous machine ready for any hiccups with M1 but I haven’t even turned it on, and already delivered a full broadcast mix and a feature length documentary this week of ownership. Mileage WILL vary from user to user. For example some third party plugins within Logic Pro don’t show up at all. I know Apple Silicon support is only going to get better so I’m more than happy with my purchase. My experience has been truly great, I recommend it 100%

Was easy to setup. I’ve used spare bluetooth keyboard mouse and monitor. Inexpensive way to run Mac OS.

This thing is a beast, and has no issues with only 8GB of RAM. It destroys every workload you throw at it and never breaks a sweat, or ramps up its fans.

This is a very nice unit. It’s easy to set up outta the box. I use it for a lot of photo editing and graphics. Runs Adobe products just fine. It’s everything you could ask for in such a little computer. You can’t go wrong for the price and what this unit comes with inside of it. I took a leap from a Mid 2011 iMac and this thing runs circles around it. If your a current Mac user you’ll have some growing pains as something’s a a bit different navigation wise with Big Sur but if your a windows transitioning person you should be able to pick up on this as its very easy to get used too once you play around for awhile Overall I’m a fan. You will love it.

I don’t like Apple. Their business model is terrible but because of their following they get away with it. That being said I was FORCED to buy an Apple product to continue development on my mobile app. I will say that this little machine does everything I need it to do and more. I am able to build my apps in Xcode in no time and the simulator never hiccups. I do not do any 4k video editing but for app development it’s perfect.

B&H shipped my new Mac Mini M1 quickly and I great packaging. Transfer from the existing system was straightforward. The new Mac Mini M1’is super fast, quiet, and is small enough to be portable to any HDMI monitor or TV. The internal speaker isn’t good for much so make sure to have external sound output or Bluetooth headphones.

This machine is way better than my iMac 27 inch mid 2010

I have had a laptops for a long time however when the battery on it finally began to not function properly I need a mew computer. I realized that I rarely ever travel with the laptop so I began to look for a desktop. The Mac Mini is awesome. It is small and compact. I have it mounted to my wall so I am wasting no desk space. It functions really nicely. The only downside is that not all apps are working as efficiently with the new M1 processor. I know that it is just a lag with the apps and I am sure that they will all get this resolved/improved quickly. Love my Mini.

I was a little skeptical about the positive reviews everywhere, but it turned out to deliver all that was promised. I’m a developer and many of the apps I use still haven’t been ported to Mac ARM, but performance is still snappier than on my 2019 MacBook Pro.

Upgraded my 2009 MacPro, what a huge step up. So much faster without the huge size and loud video card fans of my older computer. My only complaint is the price of the upgrades I paid double the price to upgrade to 16gb ram and a 1tb ssd. As a video editor had to have at least that much. I wish it had more expand ability… The screen black out randomly when using a usb c to hdmi cable, switching to hdmi port, which solved the issue. Been using for over a month without a problem.

It is made of good quality and I prefer macOS to Windows for many reasons. When you compare all what it brings and the quality then you might understand why of the price. However, Apple is offering discounts on it’s products every month
