The Apple Mac mini now features Apple’s first chip designed specifically for Mac. The Apple M1 integrates the CPU, GPU, Neural Engine, I/O, and more into a single system on a chip (SoC). All of this boosts the Mac mini to an entirely different level, as it features up to three times faster CPU performance, up to six times faster graphics, and up to 15 times faster machine learning with the 16-Core Neural Engine. You’ll be able to work, play, and create on a Mac mini with more power and speed than previous models, making it suitable for home offices, gaming, music creation, digital art and signage, and more. Adding to the Mac mini’s power is 8GB of RAM, which helps to ensure smooth multitasking and also allows the computer to quickly access frequently used files and programs.
The 8-Core GPU delivers a sharp, clear picture, and you’ll be able to output video to an external display using the system’s Thunderbolt 3 ports, which feature native DisplayPort output, or use the built-in HDMI 2.0 port. You’ll be able to connect one 6K / 60 Hz display using Thunderbolt 3 and a second 4K / 60 Hz display using HDMI 2.0.
For storing your files, this Mac mini is equipped with a 512GB SSD that delivers speeds of up to 3.4 GB/s. If you want to add external peripherals, two Thunderbolt 3 / USB4 ports that support bi-directional transfer speeds of up to 40 Gb/s, as well as 10 Gb/s USB 3.1 Gen 2, plus charging and power for external devices. Thanks to two 5 Gb/s USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports, you’ll still be able to connect other devices to this system. Gigabit Ethernet is built in for wired networking, or use Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) for wireless access. Bluetooth 5.0 technology will allow you to connect additional compatible peripherals, including keyboards, mice, and headsets. Sound is output using a 3.5mm headphone jack. Apple’s Mac mini operates using an internal 150W power supply that runs off 100-240 VAC at 50 to 60 Hz.
This Mac comes preloaded with macOS. Updates can be downloaded for free via the Mac App Store. Please check Apple’s website for upgrade eligibility Also, please be aware that a keyboard and mouse are not included.

I bought this 8GB M1 Mini Mac for my daughter to replace her five years old lower end iMac. I myself own a maxed out 2017 i7 iMac for video editing. I have to say for the money this is a no brainer. You can find countless YT reviews out there which will show you how fast this computer is. For me personally I don’t know if it is because of the new M1 chip or its SSD or if it’s the new OS Big Sur. But it just quick. Every app opens immediately. Browse thru webpages instantly. My daughter use it for her virtually classes and online gaming with no lags. We love it. The only issue is the Bluetooth. Which I believe it is a known issue now. I would think Apple will have an update to fix it soon. My Bluetooth mouse will disconnect occasionally which could get very annoying. But it hasn’t done it for the last few days. Perhaps it has already auto updated and fix it. So over all I;d highly recommend this M1 version of Mac Mini. If you are looking to not spend a lot of money. Keep in mind you will still need to get a monitor, keyboard, mouse, camera and speakers. You could probably get those covered around $200.

Personal experience supports the predominant positive reviews on Youtube. Not enough ports as you would expect from Apple, so you will need some type of hub.

I’ve had this Mac mini for about a month now. I noticed issues with reconnecting with my bluetooth keyboard and track pad (which meant I couldn’t do anything until I restart the computer) coming out of sleep mode. I seemed to get gradually worse, more common. I upgraded the software available a few days ago and since then no problems – so far.

For most graphic applications this computer is a compact little screamer. Only downside is number of ports. Would not buy at less than 16GB RAM or less than 1TB storage.

It. Is. Fast. Apps load quick, and 4k videos playback smooth. Only complaint is Adobe still isn’t native and Final Cut is a terrible NLE coming from Premiere, but it runs like silk.

I do some freelance editing for a guy who shoots using the Canon RAW video format. These were essentially uneditable on my 2018 mini. This thing provides a very smooth Premiere native editing experience for those. I do drop resolution to 1/2, as it can still be choppy at full resolution. Still, very impressed and save a ton of time and messing around with shooting or precessing proxy files.

I can’t get over how smooth everything is on this little thing. I upgraded from a beefy 2017 MacBook Pro. That laptop was spec’d out pretty well, but it just pales in comparison to this thing. For the price, definitely worth it!

Needed to upgrade, and this was highly recommended from my partner. My old machine was 11 yo, so it was a bit out of date. Anything will seem like it runs faster in comparison, but this is beautifully slick, fast, and takes up almost jo space on my desk. Just wonderful! However, keep in mind that there are only two each USB-A and USB-C ports.. that gets used up fast. My set up includes a drawing tablet and external HD (USB-A), so there are those two used. A second monitor takes up a USB-C… I needed at least three more USB-A ports, so I got a HUB to facilitate that. So far, so good!! I would highly recommend this, with the caveat that you need a hub for either additional USB-C or USB-A. Just keep that in mind!

I have owned over the years 6 or more Mac mini’s. I installed this one in a Mac mini bracket and mounted this under my motorized sit/sand desk. I use this Mac for normal day to day like; mail, browsing, calendar, YouTube, and the like. I also edit my YouTube videos using this Mac mini. And when you are all done with this Mac mini in 4 years or so you can sell the Mac mini for 2/3 of what you paid. Does not get better than that. Love this thing.

As expected and proven with faster rendering in da Vinci using studio 17.1. The 16 GB model is a very capable small workstation that emulates the size of a UNIX Remote Desktop. You would be hard-pressed to find a better performing workstation at this price point
