The Apple Mac mini now features Apple’s first chip designed specifically for Mac. The Apple M1 integrates the CPU, GPU, Neural Engine, I/O, and more into a single system on a chip (SoC). All of this boosts the Mac mini to an entirely different level, as it features up to three times faster CPU performance, up to six times faster graphics, and up to 15 times faster machine learning with the 16-Core Neural Engine. You’ll be able to work, play, and create on a Mac mini with more power and speed than previous models, making it suitable for home offices, gaming, music creation, digital art and signage, and more. Adding to the Mac mini’s power is 8GB of RAM, which helps to ensure smooth multitasking and also allows the computer to quickly access frequently used files and programs.
The 8-Core GPU delivers a sharp, clear picture, and you’ll be able to output video to an external display using the system’s Thunderbolt 3 ports, which feature native DisplayPort output, or use the built-in HDMI 2.0 port. You’ll be able to connect one 6K / 60 Hz display using Thunderbolt 3 and a second 4K / 60 Hz display using HDMI 2.0.
For storing your files, this Mac mini is equipped with a 512GB SSD that delivers speeds of up to 3.4 GB/s. If you want to add external peripherals, two Thunderbolt 3 / USB4 ports that support bi-directional transfer speeds of up to 40 Gb/s, as well as 10 Gb/s USB 3.1 Gen 2, plus charging and power for external devices. Thanks to two 5 Gb/s USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports, you’ll still be able to connect other devices to this system. Gigabit Ethernet is built in for wired networking, or use Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) for wireless access. Bluetooth 5.0 technology will allow you to connect additional compatible peripherals, including keyboards, mice, and headsets. Sound is output using a 3.5mm headphone jack. Apple’s Mac mini operates using an internal 150W power supply that runs off 100-240 VAC at 50 to 60 Hz.
This Mac comes preloaded with macOS. Updates can be downloaded for free via the Mac App Store. Please check Apple’s website for upgrade eligibility Also, please be aware that a keyboard and mouse are not included.

I’m shocked at how great this Mac Mini is for video production. I am using it to replace my 15 Macbook Pro. The M1 CPU and GPU have been amazing for video production. I use Final Cut Pro to edit TV commercials, infomercials and personal YouTube videos. It’s rendering 4k video files with ease! To sum it up: You can now buy a Mac that doesn’t break the bank and can handle about anything you want to create.

I was weary of upgrading, but I decided to take the plunge. I was pleasantly surprised at the results. It’s fast and quiet. It seems like I wait for nothing whether it’s downloading, uploading, transferring or rendering.

Runs all my graphic and music programs flawlessly. Very fast compared. It could use some extra ports.

I was finally forced to replace my 2007 iMac due to lack of software updates and incompatibilities. Perhaps some who upgrade more often won’t think its much, but this Mac Mini totally blows my 13 year old Mac away. This little guy has some power behind it. Going with the 8 gig RAM/256 gig SSD was a risk but apps launch almost instantly. Except for my financial software (Quicken), all my critical legacy Intel 64 bit apps open and run … much faster than on the old iMac. So far only 1/3 of the SSD is used, plenty of space left. I’m not a gamer or graphic designer so I can’t speak for those apps, however HD videos play back fine whether locally stored or streamed. Photos and Pixelmator are quick and responsive. Extra plus: iPhone/iPad apps can be installed and run! There is some issue with apps designed for touch interface using a keyboard and mouse, but most have basic functionality. This is the future.

great product. Speaking as a LONG time Mac user (can you say Macintosh plus), this is a great product. Start up is LIGHTENING fast and program loading is very fast, even without an increase in RAM from a 9 year old Mac mini. Installation was a breeze … minutes. I chose not to use migration assistant, as I wanted to clean out ancient documents and programs. Copying the documents file across the network was by far the slowest process. (and that is just waiting). I save the 5th star only for review after a few months of usage. One small negative, as with all upgrades. some older peripherals may have to be retired. Be prepared for that …. an inconvenience in all upgrades.

I can’t believe how fast this sucker is. edited 6 simultaneous 4K streams to 1080p with barely a hitch. MacPro performance at MacBook price.

I probably could have gotten by with a $600 version of the same device, with less memory and RAM, but I’m hoping it will last long enough to get me through the next few generations. Mostly, I was very impressed with the customer service at B&H, particularly Rita.

I love my Mac mini (late 2020). As an owner of a brand agency and worker in the video, graphic, and web development industries, this little powerhouse is doing the trick. The bang for your buck is truly amazing. Empowered by the new M1 chip, this little work-horse is true to the reviews you’ve probably seen all over the Net. Two thumbs up. Five stars. My only concern was trying to use an old iMac (mid-2013) for a monitor. Nearly impossible with no solid solutions found. Ended up using an inexpensive 4K television – worked great.

Just got this to do professional video editing, using Adobe Suite Projects. Everything has worked great, only one Premiere crash in the two weeks I’ve had it. Video encodes lightning fast. The lack of ports is a little annoying but fixable.

I ordered the Mac Mini M1 with a 16gb memory upgrade. It was back ordered because I believe Apple at the custom make this configuration. I went on Apple’s site to see if they had anything for pick up. My configuration still had a long wait time on their site. This is the more affordable price for the Mac Mini M1 especially if you use the B&H Credit Card. I saved so much on tax.

I have been using Mac mini computer for years. I had already purchased a Mac mini M1 directly from Apple and was surprised by how much improved this latest model was. As such, I decided to buy another. This time I searched for the best price and found it at B&H Photo. I’ve purchased products from B&H in the past so I knew it was a reliable merchant. I consider this purchase a Win-Win. Great product, great price, and super quick delivery. Read reviews for the Mac mini M1 and reviews for B&H. You’ll see why I say it’s a Win-Win.
