The Apple Mac mini now features Apple’s first chip designed specifically for Mac. The Apple M1 integrates the CPU, GPU, Neural Engine, I/O, and more into a single system on a chip (SoC). All of this boosts the Mac mini to an entirely different level, as it features up to three times faster CPU performance, up to six times faster graphics, and up to 15 times faster machine learning with the 16-Core Neural Engine. You’ll be able to work, play, and create on a Mac mini with more power and speed than previous models, making it suitable for home offices, gaming, music creation, digital art and signage, and more. Adding to the Mac mini’s power is 8GB of RAM, which helps to ensure smooth multitasking and also allows the computer to quickly access frequently used files and programs.
The 8-Core GPU delivers a sharp, clear picture, and you’ll be able to output video to an external display using the system’s Thunderbolt 3 ports, which feature native DisplayPort output, or use the built-in HDMI 2.0 port. You’ll be able to connect one 6K / 60 Hz display using Thunderbolt 3 and a second 4K / 60 Hz display using HDMI 2.0.
For storing your files, this Mac mini is equipped with a 512GB SSD that delivers speeds of up to 3.4 GB/s. If you want to add external peripherals, two Thunderbolt 3 / USB4 ports that support bi-directional transfer speeds of up to 40 Gb/s, as well as 10 Gb/s USB 3.1 Gen 2, plus charging and power for external devices. Thanks to two 5 Gb/s USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports, you’ll still be able to connect other devices to this system. Gigabit Ethernet is built in for wired networking, or use Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) for wireless access. Bluetooth 5.0 technology will allow you to connect additional compatible peripherals, including keyboards, mice, and headsets. Sound is output using a 3.5mm headphone jack. Apple’s Mac mini operates using an internal 150W power supply that runs off 100-240 VAC at 50 to 60 Hz.
This Mac comes preloaded with macOS. Updates can be downloaded for free via the Mac App Store. Please check Apple’s website for upgrade eligibility Also, please be aware that a keyboard and mouse are not included.

I love the mini Mac, I had windows HP computer which gave me lot of problems I reformatted 3 times, and still there was a problem. So I was happy to buy the mini Mac and so far there is no problem whatsoever. Woody

I purchased this Mac to replace an 8 year old PC in my voice-over business. This machine is WAY under-rated. It’s lightning fast compared to my old PC. I had it configured with 16gb RAM and a 1TB internal SSD drive. I realize it’s not really fair to compare the two but I love this Mac. After 40 years of loyalty to PCs and Windows I think I’m a convert!

Couldn’t be happier! Does everything I wanted and more. Lightroom and Photoshop are no problem. I’m glad I made this decision. BK

As a filmmaker, speed and workflow are important. I was a PC guy for years and have edited on Premiere since the late 90s. My work machine is a 27 iMac 2020 model and although I was leaning on getting the same computer for my home studio, I went with the M1 Mac Mini because I already had a 27 inch screen at home and don’t like the keyboard nor Magic Mouse that came with my work iMac…. This is replacing an old 2015ish Windows PC that I used to make a few documentaries on. I recently upgraded the ram in my PC to 32gigs and yet I my PC was still crawling to render and export clips and files. As an example, a 48 minute clip of edited content would’ve taken almost 4 hours to render on my PC. The same sequence/clips took 8 minutes on my M1 Mac mini. I was floored. This thing barely makes a a sound. I opted for the 256gb storage version with the 16 gigs of ram. I bought a Samsung t7 external SSD and edit off that drive and everything is smooth as butter. scrubbing through my footage works perfectly without any hangups. Also keep in mind that I’m using Adobe Premiere Pro Creative Cloud which isn’t even fully optimized for the M1 chip yet (it’s at about 80% as of this writing) yet this thing works better than my 2020 iMac using the same version fo Premiere Pro. Long story short, just get it. You will not be disappointed in it.

While I have had a few issues from Intel apps causing stuttering this machine is so freakin fast doing everything else. Web pages load quicker and apps open instantly. Looking forward to future iterations of this architecture. My only regret is that it does not support bootcamp or eGPU’s but I knew that going in.

It’s exactly as promised. What I didn’t expect was Affinity Publisher already maximized for the M1 processor, and for half-off.

More power means faster, easier operation. I love the new M1 chip.

Well worth the price. No need for pay Apple extra $200 to get 512GB SSD instead of 256GB. Mac OS takes up only 40GB and you can buy a 512GB Type C SSD for $40 to stick in the back of the M1 Mac Mini. I would like more Type C ports than 2. One HDMI port works well but be careful to get a monitor that works with 60Hz output as that is all M1 puts out. Spring for the full 16GB main memory though. Snappy performance with Office 365; super fast with Apple apps. Having intermittent trouble with my 10 year old Apple bluetooth touch pad loosing connection. May need to buy a new touchpad from Apple.

Don’t recommend trying to bring all your programs over to this new system. better off with clean install and reload your programs as you need them. nothing works right totally freezes. After clean install computer screams and I am pretty happy with it

Delivery: Arrived before estimated deadline. Convenient tracking. Product: Incredibly fast and powerful for its size and weight. Handles multiple tabs of Chrome like a champ. Easy setup with third party monitor, mouse and keyboard. With everything that’s happening in the world, a powerful desktop computer connected to a large monitor is preferable. This fast little guy exceeds expectations.

Am I the only person buying a new mac mini to replace a mac mini I bought many years ago that is now on its way to mac mini heaven? Clearly, I love the mac mini. But Apple made the transition from old to new much harder than it had to be. For one, there were essentially no instructions on how to transfer my date from old to new; I found my way only through repeated time-consuming internet searches for fragments here and there on the web of what I had to do. Then there are the several costly cables and plug fittings I had to buy because Apple keeps on changing the type of fittings on the computer’s rear panel, and cutting back on their numbers (luckily for me, my printer relies on wifi instead of a precious plug. One cable I required to plug in an exterior hard drive for backups was listed on line at more than $50. Another one I bought in error was $29. I figured it would be a better deal simply buying a new drive with a more up-to-date plug. When it arrived, I discovered the drive’s maker had dealt with the same problem I faced by using an adapter plug I did not know existed — I had not found such a plug listed for sale on any of the numerous web sites I consulted. Standards I had to sift through included Firewire 400, Firewire 800, Thunderbolt 3, Thunderbolt 4, USB-A, USB-B and USB-C. To this day, a bit over two weeks after my purchase, I am still encountering some mysteries, such as the terminal page that pops up every time I boot up, titled -zsh — 80×24, that I simply cannot cure. On the other hand, a number of the more complicated transition events were carried out so smoothly in the background that I wasn’t even aware they had been required, or how or when they took place. In short, I could have used a lot more explanatory information, whether online or in a pamphlet in the box, on the most important issues to address. And the mac mini is not exactly a cheap computer — it cost $1,142 — not including keyboard, mouse, or video camera/mic. As for B&H, they were perfect, they did everything right, and for a price $50 less than the Apple store.

Made sure to bump ram to 16GB as 8GB is minimum for many editing apps. So far it has taken everything I have thrown at it for photo and video editing software. Some apps are not yet optimized for the M1 processor and still run fast.

I purchased this for my husband as his windows computer crashed about two months ago. So far he loves it, though he had to get used to a few differences between windows and Mac. This computer is really fast for browsing the internet and having multiple windows open. It seems to have bluetooth which is great to connect AirPods with. Wish we were able to connect two monitors without needing an adapter though.

The Mac mini M1 is all the I expected. Small, light, fast. The lack of more USB A ports and the problems with USB C drivers (operating system limitation) is something that you need to know, but for the needs that I have, it behaves beautifully. It is absolutely silent, although it has a fan that may kick in when it is need, but even in that moment, it is only a whisper.

Really happy with this, great machine. I own the previous (2018) Intel-based mini and this is a HUGE step up speed-wise. I’m doing audio, and what I could do 1x on the Intel, I can do 20x with the M1. A+

B&H was in constant communication with me about when I would receive it and it was on time. I bought this for my father since he had an old mac mini. It was easy to install and is working great! Couldn’t be happier with my purchase!
