The Apple Mac mini now features Apple’s first chip designed specifically for Mac. The Apple M1 integrates the CPU, GPU, Neural Engine, I/O, and more into a single system on a chip (SoC). All of this boosts the Mac mini to an entirely different level, as it features up to three times faster CPU performance, up to six times faster graphics, and up to 15 times faster machine learning with the 16-Core Neural Engine. You’ll be able to work, play, and create on a Mac mini with more power and speed than previous models, making it suitable for home offices, gaming, music creation, digital art and signage, and more. Adding to the Mac mini’s power is 8GB of RAM, which helps to ensure smooth multitasking and also allows the computer to quickly access frequently used files and programs.
The 8-Core GPU delivers a sharp, clear picture, and you’ll be able to output video to an external display using the system’s Thunderbolt 3 ports, which feature native DisplayPort output, or use the built-in HDMI 2.0 port. You’ll be able to connect one 6K / 60 Hz display using Thunderbolt 3 and a second 4K / 60 Hz display using HDMI 2.0.
For storing your files, this Mac mini is equipped with a 512GB SSD that delivers speeds of up to 3.4 GB/s. If you want to add external peripherals, two Thunderbolt 3 / USB4 ports that support bi-directional transfer speeds of up to 40 Gb/s, as well as 10 Gb/s USB 3.1 Gen 2, plus charging and power for external devices. Thanks to two 5 Gb/s USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports, you’ll still be able to connect other devices to this system. Gigabit Ethernet is built in for wired networking, or use Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) for wireless access. Bluetooth 5.0 technology will allow you to connect additional compatible peripherals, including keyboards, mice, and headsets. Sound is output using a 3.5mm headphone jack. Apple’s Mac mini operates using an internal 150W power supply that runs off 100-240 VAC at 50 to 60 Hz.
This Mac comes preloaded with macOS. Updates can be downloaded for free via the Mac App Store. Please check Apple’s website for upgrade eligibility Also, please be aware that a keyboard and mouse are not included.

I was looking for a low cost way to upgrade from my 10 year old Mac. The Mac mini fit the bill perfectly- I was able to utilize my current Mac Bluetooth keyboard and mouse. Machine is small and powerful and sits on my desk perfectly. I would highly recommend this machine.

I needed a desktop that could access everything I did on my iPad and vice versa. The mini does that flawlessly. I use it with a monitor I already had. Perfect solution to my needs and cheaper than a new Mac. B&H had a good price and shipped quickly.

The mini m1 is a great machine lots of ports. The price to performance can’t be beat.

It’s small, silent, powerful and cute, but display issues persist, and have not been fixed with the latest version of Big Sur. I am a professional photographer and retoucher, and I find that the M1 chip cannot reproduce detail in the shadows of low-key images without ugly gradient color banding. I’ve tested this with a Dell U2715U and BenQ SW270C. After calibration with i1 Display, both produced nice looking results, except in the dark areas. I compared both of these monitors with the same image on my Macbook Pro (i7), and the banding issue is nonexistent. I feel like Apple just doesn’t care. Hopefully a firmware update might fix…

The M1 mini replaces a much loved Mac Pro 2010 tower with top tier specs and GPU used primarily as a video editing system. OS updates and software compatibility were getting to be too much of issue with the tower, so I thought I’d give the mini a try. The M1 really blows the tower away. It’s very fast and responsive. For video post, it plays back R3D 5K files, ArriRAW and 4K ProRes in Premiere, Resolve and FCPX. Not perfectly, but smoothly enough for editing, something the tower simply couldn’t do. I threw 4K DPX film scan files at it as well as torture test – it chokes, but it has a semblance of playback where the tower could barely play them at all. Of course I wish the mini had more ports and expandability, but for a 1000 bucks, it’s astonishing for what it is. This system is a stopover until the new M1 iMac and Mac Pros arrive, but it’s great on its own and I can easily imagine it as a secondary system for post when needed.

I have been a technologist since 1989, as well as the Educational Technology Director of a large Brooklyn private school. As such, I have owned and used many different computers in both the Windows and Mac world. I am pleased to say that the Mac Mini lives up to its hype in every way and that the new M1 chip is superior in kind and degree to any other computer chip on the market. Graphics are crystal clear and the speed is simply amazing – all this with the entry level model – 256GB SSD and 8GB of RAM. Don’t simply buy this machine – run and buy while you still can!

I have a MacBook Pro and wanted to get a desktop for another part of the house. This PC rocks. My only issue is what everyone Else’s is…it only has only two thunderbolt ports . This baby is a terrific value ….even if you are just started out on a Mac you can’t go wrong.

It’s a fine computer for the price, but being incompatible with software that I need is how I discovered the BH doesn’t accept computer returns.

This is a wonderful computer. Fast, great image quality. Sound it’s not so good though. Great for development, foto edition, video editing. Great for students or Mac OS beginners

Started back in the late 80’s to current iMac and this little Mini is by far the best. Faster and with only 16gb of ram. Yes it could use more ports but Thunderbolt dock takes care of that. I’m a professional artist and photographer and this handles the most demanding work flow. I’ve paired it with a 32″ Benq monitor and Samsung t7 2tb ssd.

I Love the new Man Mini Apple M1, really fast and easy to use. Transfer files from my MacBook to the Man mini was really easy.

I am an audio scrubber – that is, I clean audio recordings from distracting noise. For this, I use Izotope, which has many modules dedicated to removing particular types of noise, such as mouth clicks. Problem was that my Core 2 Duo iMac is way to slow for this module and others. It takes about a minute to compute a 1-second preview of the mouth-declicker. By that time I’d forget how the preceding cycle sounded. Moreover, I had a particularly challenging project due shortly. The MiniMac, like the cavalry, arrived just in time! The migration of the iMac’s system took perhaps half an hour and most of the software, including Izotope, worked right from the bat. I hooked a 10-port USB hub up to one of the 2 USB-3 ports to attach my audio peripherals and that, too, worked seamlessly. I could get to work within less than 2 hours from opening the box. What had taken a minute to compute on the iMac now took only a few milliseconds. The project was delivered on time and there was not a mouth-click left in it!

I haven’t had much time to put 4k video through it, but from what I’ve seen so far, I’m extremely impressed by how powerful this thing is!

Got this for video editing and it great so far, it does everything I need. Never having a MAC before did slow me down but hey you can almost always find a video to show you what you need nowadays!
