The Apple Mac mini now features Apple’s first chip designed specifically for Mac. The Apple M1 integrates the CPU, GPU, Neural Engine, I/O, and more into a single system on a chip (SoC). All of this boosts the Mac mini to an entirely different level, as it features up to three times faster CPU performance, up to six times faster graphics, and up to 15 times faster machine learning with the 16-Core Neural Engine. You’ll be able to work, play, and create on a Mac mini with more power and speed than previous models, making it suitable for home offices, gaming, music creation, digital art and signage, and more. Adding to the Mac mini’s power is 8GB of RAM, which helps to ensure smooth multitasking and also allows the computer to quickly access frequently used files and programs.
The 8-Core GPU delivers a sharp, clear picture, and you’ll be able to output video to an external display using the system’s Thunderbolt 3 ports, which feature native DisplayPort output, or use the built-in HDMI 2.0 port. You’ll be able to connect one 6K / 60 Hz display using Thunderbolt 3 and a second 4K / 60 Hz display using HDMI 2.0.
For storing your files, this Mac mini is equipped with a 512GB SSD that delivers speeds of up to 3.4 GB/s. If you want to add external peripherals, two Thunderbolt 3 / USB4 ports that support bi-directional transfer speeds of up to 40 Gb/s, as well as 10 Gb/s USB 3.1 Gen 2, plus charging and power for external devices. Thanks to two 5 Gb/s USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports, you’ll still be able to connect other devices to this system. Gigabit Ethernet is built in for wired networking, or use Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) for wireless access. Bluetooth 5.0 technology will allow you to connect additional compatible peripherals, including keyboards, mice, and headsets. Sound is output using a 3.5mm headphone jack. Apple’s Mac mini operates using an internal 150W power supply that runs off 100-240 VAC at 50 to 60 Hz.
This Mac comes preloaded with macOS. Updates can be downloaded for free via the Mac App Store. Please check Apple’s website for upgrade eligibility Also, please be aware that a keyboard and mouse are not included.

Very happy with my Mac mini. It is so much faster than my previous iMac.

So powerful and a beautiful Desktop Mac PC with the new chip and new macOS. B&H charges less than Apple.

This little machine literally made me feel bad for how much money I had wasted on much more expensive gear. I’m coming from a 3000+ PC that I built in 2017 and this machine literally ran everything I did the same or better even with some of the specs like the ram actually being lower. It’s also so beautiful and it looks great on a desk. Although it’s not meant to be mobile it’s definitely more manageable than my giant tower PC.

My aging iMac needed upgrading and I was looking to go with the new M1 Mac Mini since it offers an impressive value (best value in the Apple lineup). I use Adobe PP & Avid PT’s and both apps work flawlessly on this little guy. Everything so far has been smooth. Mind you I’m not a power user but for those looking for a solid performer for a modest price then this may be the ticket for you. It was (is) for me.

This computer is a great computer. It’s fast, small, and I love macOS.

Love the machine. Works with Ableton, pro tools, logic pro x, my UAudio Apollo interface. So far so good. 10/10 purchase. No hesitation.

I don’t really need to write this review. If you’re looking to purchase the Mac Mini then you know all the hype behind it. Multiple videos have raved about this computer and everything is true. This Mac is a beast with the 16GB setup. I use it as my daily driver and have no issues with it lagging on any program. I moved from my MacBook Pro and love the fact I don’t have to have a bunch of dongles.

This is my 4th or 5th Mini. Its immediate predecessor was a 3+Ghz, 16 gig ram machine. This one, with the M1 chip, blows it away. Mini’s are a good buy. I’ve sold every one I’ve had at a higher-than-expected used price. This thing loads Photoshop in 3-4 seconds. No regrets.

I’ve been using Apple computers since 1986. I had to upgrade my 2012 Mac Mini with this model that now has the new M1 chip. I’m very satisfied and impressed with the processing, speed and low latency on this computer. I’m running Photoshop with no issues, OBS studio, Serato DJ Pro and other music production (DAW) software with ease! This machine leaves my other Mac products in the dust…..except my MacBook Pro (M1). However, it does make an amazing difference rendering video, audio tracks and more. When I touch the chasis, it’s always cold not even a blow of the fan. I love the 4K output – looks amazing when coupled with an LG-32UN650W monitor. Bought the model with 256GB since I have an external Samsung T5 (2TB). Absolutely love it! Might buy one for my wife! Guilt feeling of having something awesome and not share with a loved one kills me.

I bought this for using Logic Pro X exclusively. It so far has exceeded my expectations! One word of warning however. Most plugins from aftermarket companies would not work with Logic running natively. I had to get info on the Logic App in Finder and check the box run in rosetta for the 3rd party plug ins to work. That did not fix it for ALL my 3rd part plug ins but most of them Do work now. I am keeping my laptop on Catalina to use until all my 3rd party plug ins are updated.

My 2015 MBP wasn’t doing so well for even the light video editing needs I have. So, after watching a number of videos, I decided to pick up the M1 Mac Mini to speed things up. All I can say is wow! The Universal version of Davinci runs fast and can do just about everything I need in near-real-time. I’m mostly doing videos for the web shot in 1080p on Canon DSLRs/mirrorless or iPhone, so not exactly a Hollywood workflow. But still, at under $1000, the Mini was a no-brainer for my needs. The only complaint I have is the non-expandable internal storage and RAM — I opted for the 16/256 configuration and picked up an external USB-C SSD to use for scratch/short term storage (I have a 10TB NAS for archival storage/backups). But with external storage so cheap and fast nowadays, it’s not something I’d consider a deal-breaker.

Nothing new to report here. Replaced an old iMac with this new Mac Mini. The M1 SSD combo is nice but not earth-shattering. Apple products have become increasingly expensive so the Mac Mini was the best bang for the buck. I’m actually going to try to install ubuntu on my old mac and see if it’s usable to break away from the big-tech overlords control. As far a B&H is concerned, their delivery was a day later than the estimate said, but still WAY faster than any other business I’ve ordered from. Definitely going to make this my tech retailer.

The M1 Mac Mini is so sweet. Super fast, affordable. I connected a simple ANKER 4 port USB Hub and have had no issues. Connected my Monitor LG 34BK650-W and it fired right up at 2650 X 1080.

The M1 chip lives up to all the hype. Even when using Adobe applications not yet updated to fully support M1(Lightroom Classic) it still edits and exports faster than mt previous 27 inch imac 5k. Whisper quiet and stays cool. I have yet to even hear the fans kick in under heavy load. I opted for the 16 gigs and 1TB version so I can edit all my photos and videos off my main drive before backing up to my NAS.

Constantly crashes when trying to use iMovie with simple 10 minute videos. Should have bought a PC. Unfortunately I can’t return an opened computer.
