The Apple Mac mini now features Apple’s first chip designed specifically for Mac. The Apple M1 integrates the CPU, GPU, Neural Engine, I/O, and more into a single system on a chip (SoC). All of this boosts the Mac mini to an entirely different level, as it features up to three times faster CPU performance, up to six times faster graphics, and up to 15 times faster machine learning with the 16-Core Neural Engine. You’ll be able to work, play, and create on a Mac mini with more power and speed than previous models, making it suitable for home offices, gaming, music creation, digital art and signage, and more. Adding to the Mac mini’s power is 8GB of RAM, which helps to ensure smooth multitasking and also allows the computer to quickly access frequently used files and programs.
The 8-Core GPU delivers a sharp, clear picture, and you’ll be able to output video to an external display using the system’s Thunderbolt 3 ports, which feature native DisplayPort output, or use the built-in HDMI 2.0 port. You’ll be able to connect one 6K / 60 Hz display using Thunderbolt 3 and a second 4K / 60 Hz display using HDMI 2.0.
For storing your files, this Mac mini is equipped with a 512GB SSD that delivers speeds of up to 3.4 GB/s. If you want to add external peripherals, two Thunderbolt 3 / USB4 ports that support bi-directional transfer speeds of up to 40 Gb/s, as well as 10 Gb/s USB 3.1 Gen 2, plus charging and power for external devices. Thanks to two 5 Gb/s USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports, you’ll still be able to connect other devices to this system. Gigabit Ethernet is built in for wired networking, or use Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) for wireless access. Bluetooth 5.0 technology will allow you to connect additional compatible peripherals, including keyboards, mice, and headsets. Sound is output using a 3.5mm headphone jack. Apple’s Mac mini operates using an internal 150W power supply that runs off 100-240 VAC at 50 to 60 Hz.
This Mac comes preloaded with macOS. Updates can be downloaded for free via the Mac App Store. Please check Apple’s website for upgrade eligibility Also, please be aware that a keyboard and mouse are not included.

Very compact, no heat or noise from fans, super fast and energy efficient. With dock (aftermarket) lots of connectivity. Liking this computer a whole lot. It replaced my 2014 27 i-mac and the performance improvement is phenomenal.

I got a great deal on this Mac at B&M and am really pleased with my purchase. It’s blazing fast compared to the Intel models and the data transfer speeds through the Thunderbolt ports are a nice surprise.

Love the Mac mini so far, and B&H has fast shipping and the only other availability I located for 16gb outside of Apple.

I migrated my recording studio workflow form a 2012 Mac Pro running Mojave to this M1 Mac mini. Since I remember very well the last Rosetta-based transition, I expected issues both in performance and stability. There were a few interesting moments during the installation but overall, it’s been very smooth, at least for me. Logic is my main DAW but Pro Tools sees its share of use as well. Both are running fine. UAD plugins are running fine. I did have to switch Logic to run in Rosetta mode even though it is a native app. The reason being all the third party plugins and VI’s. Hey, it’s not perfect but it works and I’m not seeing a big performance hit. In fact, things like Omnisphere are running way faster than on the old Mac Pro. Overall, patience is key in this transitional period. Apple has done a great job smoothing out Rosetta 2 and allowing us a reasonable level of performance. This little box actually rocks! Now, when they come with the M1X or M2 I feel like I’ll be on board there as well if only for the extra horsepower. Honestly though, to this point I haven’t begun to see anything resembling a stressful load on this system. If we are all being honest, how many of us actually NEED Mac Pro-level horsepower? Consider this thing if your system, like mine, needed upgrading and you just couldn’t wait anymore. I recommend it without hesitation especially to more experienced users. BTW, if all you run is Logic and it’s supplied plugins then you will be up and running in no time with zero issues.

These computers are the most powerful machines on the market today, pound for pound, dollar for dollar and Watt for Watt. The only reason that I don’t give 5 Full Stars, is because it comes with only 2 USB C ports and 2 USB A ports. These ports are all very fast, but there are not enough of them! I always am needing just one more USB A port.

Great mini mac. It is just like a desktop mac. Would recommend.

A brilliant upgrade for a reasonable cost (upgraded my work computer from a 2017 iMac with its doggy 5400 rpm hard drive to this Mac mini.). Run, don’t walk, to get this Mac mini if you have an older Mac that takes 20+ icon bounces to open MS Outlook and slows to a crawl sooner rather than later. I’m running the 2017 iMac with an external SSD as the boot disk now, and that sped things up there.

Beeing Mac Mini user since 2007 I recommend the Mac Mini M1 to everyone Interested in Apple line. I use It together with a Bluetooth Logitech K-380 keyboard and an Apple Magic Trackpad 2, all operating on a 4K TV, with no Bluetooth issues at all. This Mini is completely silent, even though X-Plane requieres a lot of power. I also use the Mini to edit photos with Laminar AI and to edit some videos with LumaFusion (an iPad app). And also in the Mini I play some of my iPad games.

I don’t know why, but the iTunes replacement Music.app this computer ships with is intolerably slow. Not only did it take several DAYS to import my library of about 150,000 tracks, searching is impossibly slow with there being a 3-4 second delay for each keypress into the search box. This machine is slower than a 5 year old intel machine running Mojave and iTunes. If you do buy it, buy it direct from Apple as BH won’t let you return it once you find out how dismal the performance is for you intended use. Or better yet spare yourself the trouble and stick with your older machine.

I have been wondering for quite a while how to replace my old iMac that died. After much research, I went with an external monitor and the Mac mini M1. I am delighted with its speed, performance, and size.

The new M1 architecture is really impressive. Most people won’t even notice the switch away from Intel. Old software runs seamlessly on this little workhorse, so you shouldn’t have to worry about things not working right.

It’s quiet as a mouse and fast as a mongoose! I like it. Recommended to my sister who is in the market for a new mac. So far, I love it. Bob

Replaced a 2010 iMac that had timed out on operating system updates and some software was no longer updatable. When researched, many of my existing peripherals would work with the Mac Mini so it was less expensive to buy this machine rather than a new iMac. And I loved that B&H had exactly the configuration of Mac Mini that I wanted. The machine is fast. It’s like buying a new car only without that new car smell. I only wish it had a few more charging USB ports. Otherwise, I couldn’t be happier with my new Mac Mini!

Don’t listen to the reviews on YouTube – the 16gb model is absolutely the way to go. This product was exactly as advertised and has been running fantastic. I’m a software engineer and this Mac has been invaluable for updating my software to be Apple Silicon compatible.

This computer is a total game-changer. I have never seen adobe apps run this fast before. If you make things and edit videos this computer is great. I have renders that went from 40min to 8min on this computer. This is a total win!

Got this to replace a 2012 Mac Mini model – they do hold up well. The M1 chip seems to provide fast performance, and was easy to set up and get going.

The Mac mini is fast quick and nimble, but right now a lot of the DAW, audio interfaces, and plug ins don’t quite support the M1 processor as of now. Hopefully soon this will change and I’ll be able to see the power of the new chip.

This machine is amazing. So smooth and fluid no matter what I throw at it. I picked a great time to transition from Windows to Mac! B&H d provided a great experience as well.

I have a year old Intel Mac Mini, 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD, with a Razer Core eGPU and graphics card. I just got M1 Mac Mini, 16GB unified memory, 1TB SSD, no external eGPU needed, ahead of schedule I may add, from B&H Photo and it smokes the Intel model. I’m a full time videographer, edited 3 videos on the M1 and it’s been so much easier. I’d like to also add B&H Photo delivered me this unit very quickly. I ordered it on Thanksgiving day and it shipped the same day and arrived 1 day earlier than scheduled!!! I’m beyond impressed and a true believer in B&H Photo.
