The iPad Pro’s Liquid Retina display has a 2388 x 1668 resolution, the P3 wide color gamut, ProMotion support with a 120 Hz refresh rate, and True Tone for comfortable viewing. There is also 600 nits of max brightness. On the front, Apple has introduced a 12MP Ultra Wide Camera with Center Stage, which uses the 12MP Ultra Wide 1080p camera and machine learning to automatically pan, zoom, expand, and actively adjust the frame during video calls, whether it’s just you or multiple participants. On the rear, there are still 12MP Ultra Wide and 10MP Ultra Wide cameras for 4K, Full HD, and multi-cam filmmaking with Smart HDR 3. The LiDAR scanner is retained, which determines distance by determining light reflection and further readies possibilities for augmented reality and beyond.
Apple has also equipped the iPad Pro with 128GB of storage and 8GB RAM, plus a 40 Gb/s Thunderbolt port with a USB Type-C interface for driving displays, including the Pro Display XDR at full 6K resolution, as well as external storage and docks. Moving to the audio side of things, the iPad Pro retains its five studio-quality mics and delivers theater-like sound and support for Dolby Atmos with four-speaker audio. Also carried over from previous models is support for a trackpad, Apple Pencil, Smart Keyboard Folio, and the Magic Keyboard. Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) ensures a fast Wi-Fi connection, and 5G LTE will allow network connectivity when Wi-Fi is not available, so long as you have a separately-sold data plan.

I have been a die hard Apple fan since 1983 when I first saw the original 128k Mac (which I still own today) I have spent countless money on hundreds of apple products over the year, but today I wonder if I have purchased my last one. My iPad, that I’ve owned a few short months, stopped charging. I sent my iPad in for repair, and just got notice that said there is corrosion on my USBc port that is not covered by warranty and want $500 to repair it, or they will gladly recycle it for free. WOW!!!! I’m speechless. Corrosion in that tiny little inaccessible port and it’s somehow my fault. I live in the desert for crying out loud. I would assume USBc ports have gold contacts so how does corrosion even get on the contacts? I sit here writing this review on a Macintosh. One of 4 Macintoshes within my reach, two different apple displays are shared between those 4 Macs. In addition there are four iPhones within my grasp, 2 iPads, and two Apple TVs. Further than my grasp but no further than two rooms away are 12 more apple products. But today I wonder if I will purchase that new Mac studio that I’ve had my eye on, and I wonder if I will ever give another penny to Apple.

I’ve been using a 2018 iPad Pro 11 since it was released and didn’t think they could improve on it much, but the extra zip from the M1 really makes a difference in my 3D and animated work. I was on the fence about upgrading to the 12.9, but I love how light and small this thing is, especially considering the power it packs.

Bought this to be more mobile on a road trip. Used to big desktop comps so it takes some getting used to. If you are used to phone aps probably won’t have the same learning curve. Biggest hassle was getting ATT to sell me the correct sim plan that would work for data, do not get a sim plan for a cellular, it will not work.

I’m coming from an Ipad Air 2 which was lagging like crazy under IOS 14 and 15 (planned obsolescence?). This upgrade is blazing fast with M1 chip. Screen is beautiful, love “True Tone and ability to activate “low power” mode to save battery. Really missed having a home button at first, but quickly adapting to a virtual home button.

I love the 2021 iPad Pro 11 – it’s lightweight, powerful, and super fast. Exceeds my expectations. I got the cellular version and was astounded last week when I did a 5G speed test – 533 mbps. I upgraded from an old iPad Air 2 and the difference in performance is unbelievable. Can’t believe I waited this long to upgrade. Also, I’d like to put a plug in for B&H. I ordered this exact same item from another major electronics retailer – not B&H – and it never arrived although I was charged for it, and I was never able to get them to reship or issue a refund. So now I’m in the middle of a credit card dispute that still hasn’t been resolved 6 weeks after my purchase date. Contrast that with my experience with B&H – I made the order with B&H and had a new iPad in my hands in a matter of days. I’m done with that other company and will be coming to B&H for all of my electronics needs in the future. Thank you for being reliable!
