Expensive, but extremely high quality Apple product. I would rather spend the extra money to know a product will not fall apart. Others have complained about its stiffness; on the contrary, I feel this ensures I won’t be dealing with frayed wires in a year. Wish it weren’t a necessary product to own, but given that reality, it’s the best on the market.

Adds functionality to the USB Type-C (only) port. I did not give it 5 stars because it is a computer interlink. It works as it should, but ‘love’ is kind of a strong word for this.

Do not purchase the new 2015 MacBook without purchasing this USB-C to USB adapter. The more we use the MacBook, the more we realize the single input port for charging, USB, CD/DVD writer, the more we think Apple made a mistake by limiting the input ports to only 1. You can’t keep your computer charged if you are using an external hard-drive or CD writer, or need to physically plug in a printer.

Apple now does not offer many options for Ports ( on new MacBook Pro)… only USB-C on its new Lap tops ….so if you have a new MacBook Pro you will need this . Other laptops and of course iMacs have USB-A ports .. so I have a new 16” MacBook Pro and need to have access to ports other than only USB-C. Also there is no card slot … beware.Get one if necessary. I also got a SuperDrive … no longer an option on new Macs.
