The connection at the machine puts the port into tension because the cord is long compared to the weight of whatever you’ve hooked up. It’s a design problem. Apple simply drives forward its market for dongles instead of leaving us a USB A or B port.

A un precio rasonable es la mejor opcion para expandir los puertos. Mejor ir a la fija con el adaptador propio de Apple.

I prefer the original Apple products / adapters for their quality – I still use MacBooks with USB Type-A adapters, but need to be prepared for a USB Type-C devise.

I use an iMac with several USB drives and accessories. This adapter allows me to use those same drives and accessories with my MacBook Air. I have not noticed any performance differences when using this adapter to connect the drives to my new laptop.
Ladarius Stoltenberg (verified owner) –
Work great under difficult field conditions while my camera is tethered to my laptop.

So far so good. Very convenient. The thought occurred to me now that I have a USB-C only MacBook Pro, that it’s pretty nice being able to plug it in anywhere, so in some ways I like the dongles. Probably in a minority on that topic, but It’s nice being able to run the cord out of the side that’s convenient rather than wherever the port happens to be.

Apple stock is soaring, probably because they sell bazillions of these. We have ten of them, probably. They work every time.
Alfreda Kuphal (verified owner) –
Compact.

It works just fine. The biggest frustration is knowing which USB type I’m converting to and from as I don’t keep with all the changes. If they are going to keep re-inventing these ports, I wish they would give them some easy to remember names. I ordered the wrong connector and had to return and exchange. Sales rep on the phone couldn’t give me any guidance when I said I needed to connect a new Mac with an old printer. I guessed correctly on the second try.

Working reliably and well!
Abbey Gleichner (verified owner) –
It works … just a little pricey.
Octavia Kuphal (verified owner) –
Just about everyone needs to use USB-A devices sometimes, and this works well.
Loraine Bogisich (verified owner) –
Works as described. No complaints here
Elton Prohaska (verified owner) –
I have no complaints
Deon Von (verified owner) –
Does exactly what you’d expect it to do. Dongle dongle y’all.
Mireya McKenzie (verified owner) –
All adapters an USB ports that I have experience with have a blue tab in the socket. This has a white one. Perhaps it is just an Apple thing. I need to test it.
Lottie Bayer (verified owner) –
Use for all USB connectivity. Works as advertised.
Lonzo Flatley (verified owner) –
This is a typical Apple dongle which does what it’s supposed to, namely connect my Apple optical drive to my new MacBook Pro. As is everything made by Apple, cheaper adapters can be had, more so now that USB C is becoming increasingly common in non-Apple brand equipment.
Bryce Rodriguez (verified owner) –
I use this all the time. It’s convenient and functional.
Jalon Mills (verified owner) –
Does its job very well. Can never go wrong with having a spare one of these laying around!
