This is simply the best keyboard for an iPad Pro.

Love it – trackpad hangs up in scrolling sometimes but nothing major. I use it daily

This keyboard is fabulous — easily attached, responsive, backlit, etc. It turns my iPad Pro 12.9 into a laptop, but detaches in a split second when not needed. A fabulous addition well worth the cost.

Without a doubt this keyboard is the best addition I have made to my iPadPro. Its sleek, lightweight and works right out of the box. It really allows me tomato the most of my iPad.

In all of the ways that it was specifically designed to do, it’s fantastic. A great keyboard feel that is much more like a laptop than a lot of other folio products. The trackpad especially is great, though it is small compared to the later gen macbooks. It is large enough, however, to comfortably use the intuitive gestures. That being said, there are certain aspects that are annoying — particularly because it feels like a 100% deliberate design decision to prevent iPad sales from cannibalizing their macbook lines. The magic keyboard with the iPad pro is so very close from being able to fully replace my laptop. 1. There is no escape key – things that seem somewhat natural to be able to escape out of on a computer just doesn’t exist on the iPad. It’s small but only really noticeable in some niche cases. 2. There is no function row – this may sound pedantic but this also means there’s no shortcut or media keys. You can’t change the keyboard backlight brightness without digging into the iPadOS settings several menus deep. You can’t change the volume without using the iPad’s physical buttons on the top of it, forcing you to move your hands away from the keyboard. All sorts of those features that are small but major quality-of-life improvements that exist on essentially every laptop on the market are missing. 3. Apple Pencil storage – this one is minor, but my last cases had a little slide out compartment or a magnetic flap that would help secure the apple pencil to the device when stored. With this keyboard, it’s only attached to the iPad via the magnetic charging feature so if you slide your iPad into your bag, it’s much more likely to be brushed off. Not really a big deal most of the time, however. I still rate it 5 stars as I have no regrets to it whatsoever. It would be really nice to have escape/function keys but again, this is designed to bring keyboard and trackpad functionality to your iPad — not allow you to replace your laptop with an iPad. At the very least it’s supposed to make you reconsider doing so. However, I have gone on a trip with just my iPad that I would have otherwise brought a laptop for. So will this replace your laptop 100%? No. Will it allow you to sometimes forego your laptop? Yes. Will it expand the ways that you’re able to use your iPad? Yes. It is, in my opinion, one of the best keyboard cases for the iPad — but it could have been so much more than that.

I purchased this to replace a worn out older Apple keyboard case. This one is crazy expensive, but it offers several advantages-and only one disadvantage-over its predecessor. The advantages include the illuminated keys and the addition of a touchpad. Both are huge. Additionally, the iPad hovers over the keyboard, which raises the iPad a bit, but it also means that the iPad plus keyboard don’t require as much depth for tabletop space. This can make a critical difference in getting this to fit on a tray table on an economy airline seat. The only disadvantage is losing the ability to fold the keyboard behind the iPad. If I want to showcase a vertical photo or just share presentation materials that don’t need the keyboard, I end up fully detaching the iPad and leaving it vulnerable to drops.

What’s nice is how it stands alone. And at the same time it’s a bit heavier. On the great side is the tactile feel of the keyboard and the trackpad.
